Bet you don't have Blue Bell ice cream, though!

Well----I would never mix a donut with ice cream---so it's okay.

No experience with Krispy Kreme, but Blue Bell is top-notch.

Hi Zazzie - Be sure to get the freshly baked donuts - not as good otherwise (but still pretty good).

A sticky mess that has no substance when you bit into them. Not everyone loves them. Takes about 6 (a zillion calories ) before you feel you have had anything.

I wish Krispy Kreme would come to the Northeast, that would make ol' nobs one happy camper!

We are finally getting them in San Diego! In fact, our church youth group is having a Krispy Kreme fund raiser this weekend. I've got a couple dozen on order.

Frankly, they're not my favorite. But I know people who are nuts for them. They opened one here this year and people stood in lines for hours just to get them. Go figure.

That's right. Rub it in. All I get are the Hostess boxed crap doughnuts here.

You say that like it's a BAD thing.

Shadowcat - You made me LOL. If you like Marshmallow or other airy stuff you will probably LOVE CC donuts. Watch out at picnics though one good gust and they may float away like a piece of styrofoam.

I believe that is the whole point to Krispy Kreme---melt in your mouth, no chewing necessary

The world screeches to a halt at the Krispy Kreme intersection in Pensacola when the HOT DOUG NOW HOT DOUG NOW HOT DOUG NOW starts flashing. ("NUTS" has been on the friz for awhile.)
Reassuring to know folks here know what's REALLY important in life
Anyway, congratulations on the new arrival!

I have a friend who was transporting a box of Krispy Kremes across the country to her daughter in New Mexico. A woman on the plane said to my friend "May I see them?" and my friend snapped back "NO!". Beware the Krispy Kreme fanatics!

Gravid: No, no, no! Rice cakes are styrofoam! Gotta keep those snack foods straight, y'know!
I've never had KK so I wouldn't know how gooey or yummy they might be. Sure would like to find out, though.

My son is absolutely thrilled- they are his favorite from California.
He keeps asking when they are opening - I just hope they open one near us- he is crazy if he thinks I am going to drive miles to get them for him

Question for the class:
Do any of you who eats rice cakes actually do it because you luuuuuuve them? You know, 10PM, you're sitting there on the sofa, it's pouring rain, and you get this urge that only rice cakes will satisfy?
I'm serious. My ex-GF used to get a hankering for steamed kale, but since she had a lot of Food Issues (evil foods v. good foods, and I'm not joking) I'm not sure she's a good indicator of whether cravings for Things That Are Good For You are possible in a normal population.

I finally got a taste of Krispy Kremes last year, and I wasn't impressed. But my mom adores them.
As for cravings, mine are generally of the artery-clogging variety, but every now and again I get an insatiable desire for a whole pound bag of those tiny, tender, peeled baby carrots. mmmmm.

Actually, yeah sometimes I do crave rice cakes. You'd think this would make me nice and skinny, but hardly
as for Krispy Kreme, I sure do wish I could get a kreme-filled chocolate-topped donut here in the Corridor. I have discovered that all they sell are custard filled and to get a kreme-filled you have to drive all the way to the other side of Baltimore (Dundalk/Essex). I don't understand donut demographics and that custard to me just tastes like snot.
Dunkin' Donuts Coffee is among the best I've ever had.

ROTFLMAO
I'm tempted to ask you to detail how you KNOW what the custard "tastes like," but - oh heck, you dug your own hole on this one, netlaw...

gotta love those Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Its a shame that the coffee there is lousy though. Until we got them in Chicago, I only had them on Business Trips to Atlanta.
So enjoy you first trip. I suggest you call ahead to get the times when they are hot. That way you can time your arrival with the hot and fresh doughnuts. Make sure you grab a decent cup of coffee somewhere else before you go.
