I just keep thinking about that poor little boy of theirs. 13 years old and to have seen his parents go thru so much and then lose them both.

I remember seeing an interview Dana Reeves did and she said that her son had gone through so much at such a young age. Now this. So terribly sad that such a young and vibrant woman with so much to give is taken away.
BTW, 1 in 5 cases of lung cancer is diagnosed in non smokers, so it is not just a smoker's disease.

Makes me question why.....why would such a young, beautiful, talented woman with a great future ahead of her get lung cancer and die.
There are no answers, I know....but what a shame this happened to her. Life sure is hard to understand at times.

She was a remarkable lady and will be sadly missed.
We are deeply saddened by the death of our dear friend Dana Reeve. Dana was a courageous woman who never stopped fighting for what she believed in; whether it was finding better treatments and a cure for paralysis or in her battle against lung cancer, Dana was a model of tenacity and grace. Despite the adversity that she faced, Dana bravely met these challenges and was always an extremely devoted wife, mother and advocate. Dana was an inspiration to us and we will miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her son Will and the entire Reeve family. We especially want Will to know that his mother's determination and bravery inspired us and so many others, and we will continue to work toward the causes and goals she championed. We pray that the Reeve family draws solace in knowing that the dedication and optimism of Christopher and Dana will live on in the continuing work of the Reeve Foundation.

The Christopher Reeve Foundation is deeply disappointed that the President proposed a cut in funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in his budget for Fiscal Year 2007. At a time when health promotion and quality of life programs are reaping the return on our sustained investment in the fight against paralysis, these cuts eliminate funding for CDC paralysis programs, which fund the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center (PRC), rehabilitation-based therapy programs and Quality of Life Health Promotion Grants to non-profit organizations around the country.

Hopefully, this country will become refocused on the need for stem cell research which could benefit one hundred million Americans suffering the ravages of diabetes, spinal cord paralysis, heart disease, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease, cancer, MS, Lou Gehrig's disease and other fatal, debillitation diseases.
We should always remember and thank Dana and Christopher Reeve for their valiant effort to support that goal.
