It's over! (For me anyway.)

I agree, KD! We went to my daughter's yesterday for a family gathering and my mother's today for another family gathering. There are far too many of us to fit in one house - around 30. We really should rent a party room! It just ends up as mass confusion!

Just shakin' my head at you two

Should we take a poll on who had a really bad day because a clerk didn't wish them Merry Christmas ?
Nothing like a good argument to get over all this Christmas "cheer".

The party is still going strong here. I've escaped to the barn for a cigar, a whiskey and some peace and quiet. Big ride and cookout in the morning, then they'll all go home except for the girls, who'll be here two more weeks. They want to help with vaccinations and hoof trimming on 125 sheep, the cattle, horses and goats, god bless them.

Cheryl, did everyone get along this year? No fist fights?

Mingo, if you've lifted a few bales of hay, I'd say you can lift 60 lbs. So, if I do the math...

I'm not trying to make you feel bad, profe, but it's been thirty years since my last effing Christmas.

Yes, that's right , I've been FREE for thirty years!!!

Oh, it's hard at first...your family just doesn't understand.

Your friends try to lure you back with , "Hey, just ONE wreath...what harm can just one do????""

People say, "but what will you do without it?"

I just smile, fill my glass, put my feet up and keep reading, while they rush around like monkeys with the zoo on fire.

Kraft, it would've been fine if I had eaten a bale of HAY

But I made a new rule,"Don't eat anything unless it has sugar and fat in it"

....tomorrow I start my hay diet.

It's over for me too, but I have a birthday celebration before the New Year, so don't put away the cake yet. LOL

Hubby made it home for Christmas but had to fly out again tonight.

Santa was so good to me, I must have been a very good girl this year!

If I see one more rum ball I think I'll puke.

Time to call it a night.. Maggie

KD

Everyone got along. My mother is getting worse so we're not sure what next Christmas will be like. We made an extra effort to get along. She had a small emotional breakdown a few days ago and had to be hospitalized for a day. She had forgotten that she bought Christmas presents and was worried about that when we got there Christmas day. We're taking it one day at a time.

We had a great day.

Not the usual crowd because Debbie's on Chemo and we didn't want to mingle with the family in fear of colds and viruses.

We were only a phone call away from everyone (less then an 1/8 of a mile from the closest).

We gave thanks for all the good things and for the strength to fight the bad things.

This was the first year we surprised each other with our gifts. That made Deb happy.

Amen,

Colin, is Debbie your wife? I am really sorry to hear that she is on chemo! But glad you guys had a good Christmas!

I know about trying to surprise others! My kids (add 1 new son in law) were surprised, and happy with what they got!

Cheryl, your poor mom. It must be very scary for her but at least she has a wonderful family to support her. My thoughts and prayers are always there for your family, Cheryl.

Colin, who's Debbie? I wish the very best for her and her chemo. Even though you can be a pill at times, I bet she feels blessed with you there to take care of her.

P.S. No need to respond, but Charles, my FIL, passed away yesterday, so I know what you're all feeling. I love all you guys.

Debbie’s my wife and she's doing fine. Had a Mastectomy in October and is going through the chemo part now. Prognosis is excellent so we have a lot to be thankful for.

"Even though you can be a pill at times, I bet she feels blessed with you there to take care of her."

I'm much worse in person. The word Tyrannical comes to mine, but what's she going to do? She's made the same mistake my first two wives made.

Amen,

KD

I'm saddened to hear about your FIL! Ken lost his mother on Christmas day in 1998 (our first Christmas together) so I know how tough it is to lose someone so close to you and how much tougher it is to lose them on a day like Christmas. There are plenty of hugs coming your way!

Colin - So glad to hear your wife's prognosis is good. I wish her well.

I'm glad the day is over just because it means we are that much closer to getting the move done. Minor celebration, just a couple gifts, no decoration (long ago packed) and a great dinner. Of course we continued the family tradition of having a blow up (Of course I am going to yell impatiently at you. You moved the container I was pouring the left over gravy into WHILE I was pouring it.). At the end of the day, I'm just glad everyone is healthy.

Sorry to hear about your dad KD.
Glad to hear your wife is doing well Colin.
Hope your moms illness progresses slowly Cheryl!!
