I was just catching up on some threads and who's arguing with who (whom?), and who's been booted, etc. (is Pi really booted?) and wanted to say Merry Christmas and hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
I was just reading through the worst gifts thread and wanted to turn the tables and find out what the best xmas gift you ever received was.
I think mine was a puppy when we were kids - a black lab named Duke - he was hidden in the basement on xmas eve and my parents brought him up xmas morning.

Caroline - Thank you very much.
Merry Christmas to you and yours too. And may the New Year bring good health, happiness and good fortune your way.
['Has Pi been booted?' And it, sadly, sure looks that way.

Merry Christmas Linda and Caroline!
I haven't been reading the boards, and don't know what went on, but Pi got booted? I wonder why???
Caroline my favorite gift when I was a kid was ice skates and a guitar. I got them because my mother had told me, if you finish lessons with ice skating, she would think about it, and the same with guitar lessons. I did both and got them. Never forget, I loved ice skating!
(my four other siblings took piano lessons, which I had to be different and take guitar. Well they all had to share the piano )

Thanks NearTheSea - The same to you and yours. That granddaughter of yours is too precious...especially the one when she was 5? months old. Precious. And she's still a cutie....just like her Grandmother.
My favorite 'all-time gift' I've received three times now....three beautiful granddaughters. 15-3-11 months. No greater gifts.

Merry Christmas, Caroline!
My Best Present of all time was an antique
camel-back trunk filled with collectibles and antique dolls, books, and all sorts of goodies.
It was like finding a treasure chest filled with all the things I love and collect.
My DH put a lot of love, thought and time into giving me that gift.
That was the best gift, so far. Maggie

Linda, yes, I can now say that having a grandbaby is the best
Wow, I need a pic for you all of the tree with 800 lights!
I'll try to get one when the baby wakes up. (thank God for naptime! )

Mine was a note from Tiffany at Christmas last year. All it said was: Grandma, I will love you and be with you always. Love Tiffany. It was her first attempt at script writing. I'll never lose that one!

What a coincidence. It was a younger camel toe that gave me herpes.

Lol, Maggie!
Try Googling for the "Camel Toe Song" as well. It's sung to the tune of the Beach Boys' "Kokomo" song. It's not by JibJab, but it's very similar.

Maggie - I had to google it too - never heard that one before! Your trunk sounds like a great gift - how incredibly thoughtful for someone to do that.

How did you parents ever keep the dog quiet? I would have imagined a little puppy being quiet loud.
Absolute faith has been shown, consistently, to breed intolerance. And intolerance, history teaches us, again and again, begets violence.

The duty of a patriot in this time and place is to ask questions, to demand answers, to understand where our nation is headed and why. If the answers you get do not suit you, or if they frighten you, or if they anger you, it is your duty as a patriot to dissent. Freedom does not begin with blind acceptance and with a flag. Freedom begins when you say 'No.'
