We went to Chase as we normally do to withdraw funds from our Paypal account. About 6 months ago I discovered Chase ATMs didn't charge us fees. Well, I guess that was short lived.

Friday- no charge.

Saturday & Sunday- $3.00 fees each withdrawal. No notice, just started charging fees. Now I will withdraw direct to bank or go through the grocery line if I need to make a withdrawal. Grrrrr... bank fees.

A lot have changed ,I have 2 JPM accounts,I remember it sent us a revised fee schedule,or you can read about it on their website.
Banks are charging fee if you are using other people 's card with their ATM machine /

I recall once I used online banking to transfer fund from one bank to another bank, unlike paying for gas and electricty bills, personal transfer between 2 banks is not free, there is $3 fee.

I belong to 3 credit unions, 2 here in Portland and one in Florida that I have kept open so that I have access to competitive loan rates.

None of the local credit unions offer free ATM withdrawals from other banks. In fact, I went to withdraw funds from my Florida credit union at my local credit union and was charged a fee. Apparently my Florida credit union isn't part of the Credit Union ATM network.

It was just a bit of a surprise that suddenly we are being charged fees for withdrawal. Paypal debit cards are issued by Chase and ATM withdrawals were always free... until now. Of course, this is on top of Paypal's $1 withdrawal fee.

Why dont you just transfer your Paypal fund to your local bank/credit union account,it may take a few days, but then it will be free.

Yeah, that is exactly what I said I would do. The difference is immediate cash vs. waiting several days... and of course, greed on the part of Paypal and Chase.

why do you call it greed?
You are withdrawing from an account outside Chase network, and it has to pay a fee.
Plus maintaining ATM machine cost money.
I dont use Chase ATM because I dont want to pay 3 dollars or any dollar,I keep some cash at home,
I also use the Paypal debit card as a credi card and get 1 1/2% rebate
