I have thought I would benefit from a website for quite awhile now because I have a brick and mortar store. I have limited funds. I just noticed that Yahoo has a free website available through their local listings area. Has anyone tried these?

Tried it? Yes. Worth it. Not really - well let me put it this way - you get what you pay for it...
A better investment is your own .com domain for around US$4 - 7 per year plus hosting fees of approx. US$20 per year. Install a free shopping cart plus hook up a free Google CheckOut account and away you go. Shiny!

Thank you. I am sure that would be a lot better idea, but I wouldn't have a clue as to how to go about it. Or the time.

AgitProp, DO tell! I think I am about ready for the jump. I know it has been discussed here before, but I wasn;t ready then.
Some suggestions on where to find hosting for $20 a year would be appreciated. Who has a good/affordable shipping cart, etc...
How much space do yo get for $20 a year? Most hosts I have looked into want minimum $15 a month!
I was having fair luck with ecrater but their shopping cart has not worked right since they added Google Checkout. I love Google checkout and wish it worked better. I have een told by several customers that I lost a sale because of the ecrater cart. Luckily they managed to find me on eBay.

Most hosting sites give very generous bandwidth, and disk space isn't usually a problem unless you don't optimize your images or have huge PHP databases.
