Is it a Dutch auction?
If so,then all bidders can show up and bargain with the seller on site.

This means, I am giving eBay the preverbal finger and am going to auction this item without paying eBay their due fees.
This listing is most definitely against eBay's rules and regulations. Turn this one in to eBay as a listing violation.

not a dutch auction.
they stated in the auction that they "could" sell it locally for XX amount of dollars but they are selling it on ebay starting at 9.99 (guess they didn't get they memo huh) with no reserve.
It sounds to me like if you bid and win at $9.99 that if you get there they will refuse to sell it to you at that price.

Sounds like they will be standing on the corner and their pimp instructed them to accept the highest offer ....
just a thought

I am sure smart bidders have already emailed their high bids in and will only show up if their bids are accepted, gas is not cheap these days.

Let us know if the seller replies.
It would be interesting to see what he says.
Not a very smart way to sell an item!

their answer:
"What I am trying to say is that I have already been offered (from the store where I bought it) $75, so since this is a pick up item, I consider that the high bid at this point. I would like to offer it to anyone who is interested in paying anything over that amount. I apologize for any confusion, I was hoping that I could explain this in detail in person. Thank you for your interest."
How dumb is this? No reserve. No minimum. "I would like to offer it to anyone who is interested in paying anything over that amount".
I am speechless.
Oh wait. Shipping cost? FREE. Not pickup only. FREE.
Thank goodness I am not this seller.

Sounds like this guy doesn't have a clue.
You could try to explain it to him - but....

It was removed because it was clearly a listing violation.

I watched some of that, it was hilarious, it looked like a comic skit.

I don't see a problem with the listing now. Ebay must have told him/her what the actual problem was.
