I have a large stainless pitcher that I need to photograph. How do I do it without a picture of me taking the photo appearing in the picture?

Just fix your hair and wear something nice and don't worry about it.
Actually, if you shoot in a dark room with light only on the object, and stay out of the light, you'll have no reflection.

Hmm, why'd you save that pic?

Also to minimize reflections and discoloration you might try a polarizing filter - they're good for any reflective surface. Max40's suggestions are also good!

Take it at a slight angle and check for your reflection. Or use higher resolution and take it from father away and crop it
