I'm wondering if it is within Ebay guidelines to have a permanent link inside a store which solicits donations.

For example:

I really don't know....

I thought that you couldn't, everything had to go through Missionfish or you had to have an authorization letter from a non-profit, but that was to list an auction to benefit a non-profit. Things could have changed since then.

Take away the livestock and that looks like my daughter's house!

It is a pretty gray area IMHO. I know it is ok to do it from your "about me page", and in this case it isn't posted within an auction listing. I personally would consider it OK, but I could see it from both sides.

I don't see anything that actually identifies the business as a not for profit or established rescue center....just begging for money to help feed all their pets looks to me like.

...or to support this woman's animal hoarding compulsion. In which case, the kindest thing you could do would be to not give her money.

You know, those crazy cat ladies whose feces-infested homes are full of 80 to 100 felines they've "rescued"...they all thought they were doing a good deed, too.

"Pet Hoarding" is a recognized mental illness like OBSESSIVE/COMPULSIVE DISORDER or BELONGING TO THE GOP!

A more IMPORTANT question for this "charity" is why she named one of her pets (a poor innocent PEACOCK) after HITLER'S MISTRESS?

I lived next door to a cat hoarder for nearly 10 years without realizing it. She had an open window and feral cats kept coming and going. I started suspecting something was up when I noticed that a cat on a lost poster looked like one of the 'neighborhood cats'. I asked Patsy if the cat was hers before calling the owner. She told me she thought it was one of her cats. (Why did she have to think about it?) Her daughter and grand kids stopped visiting her. Finally, her husband told her he was moving out until the cats were gone. He confided in me that he was worried she'd make the newspapers. Np, I didn't call the humane society, I didn't know very much about hoarding then - I would call them today.

I'm not about to send her any money. I've got my own menagerie to worry about feeding. I'm just wondering if it's ok to ask people for extra money with a permanent link in your store.

Maybe I'll set up a store and ask folks to help pay for my kids' expensive schools. Click here to help little Carlos and his sisters get a good education....

When I was a seller, I had a gently worded solicitation for money help, to my big sister's "meds' fund; gave option to send to my paypal for me to hand over to her, or to send her a check directly .. i had it posted, and updated it prett often ... I must say I was grateful for all the help she received .. it was very appreciated by her and helped a whole lot ... ... she has awful debilitating bouts with fibromyalgia ... ... just ask Cheryl ... she knows about that, as well as the fundraiser she did for her nieces' son ... There are so many good hearted people out there, that will help ......... again, as I said, I had it posted on my "about Me" page, but i did direct people withing my listings to please look at that page, to see who we were trying to help thru some difficult times .... ~ Marcia/Ohio

oh! P.S. We also got some ... umm ... intersting "advice" as to ohter things she could try to alleviate her bad episodes ... many were nice (mentioned doctors in the country that deal with that malady well), and other that touted from her (and me!) to do "urine therapy" ... Good Lord, ; I googled that and we're thinking 'no thanks!!' ... we're openminded, but not quite to that degree LOL ...

My fibromyalgia got 80% better by divorcing my manic/depressive controlling husband of 15 years.

Apparently stress is what makes my pain unbearable. Funny how our body processes stress.

Much better now ( 6 years later) ...no more cane...as long as I keep the stress under control and my activity level in tolerable levels I do okay.

Medicine free too...
