A friend of mine has asked me to sell his mother's fine dinnerware(Japanese) for 8.
They are in like new condition but not a complete set of eight, like 7 cups/saucers.
Replacement.com would only pay 5 cents for dinner plate so it is not worth time and money to ship them .
Should I sell them all as a set on Ebay or break them up?
Or should I even bother??
The pattern is FOREST DAMASK by FINE CHINA OF JAPAN .

I don't know jack about dinnerware, but if replacement.com is willing to pay 5 cents per plate, how much do you think they could possible go for on ebay? Not much is my guess

Most men revere their mothers and dont want to sell her better stuff at garage sale, esp they have enjoyed many holiday meals served up in those dishes.
So now I am stuck with these dishes,so how do I get rid of these dishes??

Replacements is only willing to pay .99 because they may have to warehouse them for 5 years before someone asks for even pne piece in that pattern.
Though it is a pretty pattern, I seriously doubt you will find a buyer willing to pay for them anytime soon. Garage sale is your best bet and even then you would be lucky to get $10 for them. You could take them to a local auction house and maybe get $20 for the set, but after paying a commission you probably would not pay for your gas, much less your time.
Tell your friend to pack them up for his kids. One day they might want them for sentimental reasons.
