If you've changed your e-mail address, it is NOT sufficient to merely change it through the standard process at eBay, PayPal and Vendio. You ALSO have to change the PalPal "pay to" preference on the eBay site. Changing it on one place will NOT automatically change it on all! This may be outlined somewhere in the bowels of eBay instructions but I missed it. If you do NOT do this, your buyers will NOT send their payments to your new address but to the old...and that's a REAL hassle. Be advised...

Can't you just add another email address at paypal then make it the primary?

That's probably the best thing to do - add a new address to PayPal and make it the primary - but that wouldn't fix the initial conflict here.

Hindsight's always 20/20 - but a transition from one primary to another is best done over a month or 2 period to be sure you are making all of the changes that you need to to avoid the kind of hassle this has been for blueyes29.

With a few Web sites to manage and multiple e-mails and login's, I actually keep a book of all of the accounts and related details next to our main computer - with a page or two for each to document the current password and log-in details. If not, we'd never be able to keep track of them.

So, a word of advice that could use blueyes29's experience for its support - if you're planning a major change of ISP, etc. - plan to take an extra month (when you'll pay for both services) to manage the transition.

Unless, of course, you do what we've done and have our own domains with e-mail forwarding. That way, your e-mail is independent of your chosen ISP and the only place you'd have to make an ISP change would be in one location - where you manage your domain names. When we switched from one ISP to another, we didn't have to make changes to multiple accounts - just where we manage our domains - and all the e-mail addresses remained the same, just forwarded to a different primary.

I suppose I could have added the new e-mail address BUT had completely closed down the old one so thought it best (again, so much for "thinking" to not muddy the waters with multiple e-mail addresses. Guess the main thing was I really thought that by changing the e-mail address at the "Big 3" sites (eBay, PayPal and Vendio), I'd be covered...in fact, I was pretty proud of myself for being so diligent. I guess ONE "lesson learned" is to question the folks on this board (from whom I've learned a WHOLE bunch of valuable stuff) before doing something that seems like an easy thing. Think the whole thing will sort itself out but I DID have to go in and manually change the "Pay to" preference on all my current auctions...Luckily, I'm strictly a "small time" seller but it WAS an irritation!

We made a major move last year and a friendly Vendioan gave me a gmail address. I was able to move everything to the gmail address 2 months before we moved. That way, I got to catch anything minor. I have plenty of invites left if anyone needs a gmail account.

Also, I too, keep a book with all the pertinent info.
