Lord - let this be a real auction!!! If this is bogus the news media will be all over it and we sellers who are honest (not that this person isn't) will take another kick to the teeth.
If this is an honest auction why would any reasonable person not sell it at public auction? Does anyone truly believe the Rockefellers' get up every morning and think "Oh Goody - Let's see what's on ebay that we can spend a small fortune on!!"?
Obviously the ducks are way undervalued!!

If you scroll further down the item page, there is a question if the winning bidder can keep the gold with HSBC.
So the same can go with your bridge, not everyone wants to take it home and store it in their garage or backyard!

Wells Fargo armed quards to your door, only $12K.
If insurance rates are comparable to those from the USPS, then to insure $750K would only cost $7.5K
All this and more for just 20 grand, PRICELESS!

Also some bidders want to keep them where it is now!

He got 129 bids, however the final bid is his.
He bid on it himself, but he didn't meet his reserve. Uh Oh, sorry I got confused, got the buyer and seller turned around!
