3 days ago, I noticed that TWO RECENTLY created folders had disappeared from my PHOTOCRIB account!

That ruined around 5 listings -- THANK GOODNESS it wasn't MORE!

The place where a PIC should have been just had a generic BLUE SCREEN stating "IMAGES DELETED"

So, I started the process of moving the images from 200 listings out of PHOTOCRIB & over to INKFROG -- gonna take me forever, but I had planned on gradually doing it anyway!

THIS AM, two of my listings NOW have PORNO substituted for the missing PHOTOCRIB pics:

WARNING! DO NOT VIEW IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY X-RATED PORNOGRAPHY:

WARNING! This links to X-RATED PORNOGRAPHY!

WARNING! This links to X-RATED PORNOGRAPHY!

I'm so UPSET, I could...

I'm ready to call LEA!

SOMEBODY must have hacked my PHOTOCRIB account! Or else the owner has gone completey BONKERS??

BTW: support does NOT reply...

Tomwiii, Oh No. Bet Ralphie would bite them if he could! Can you close your Photocrib account or go in and delete all the images?

What a bummer, Tom!

Perhaps you recall I had to change my Image Hosting Service several month ago, and was asking how to do it the simplest way. (You helped me on that one!) Well, evidently there IS no simple way, so...

I copied all my images, by category, onto disc then uploaded them into the newly created categories in my new image service. Like you, I use multiple images per listing, so there were a lot of pix to move. Took a couple of eight-plus hour days, but the job was completed with some upgraded photos and quite a few deletions. Per suggestions from this board, I also 'labeled' all of my pix as I went with my store name. Felt like Spring Cleaning! And it felt GOOD, once the job was done!

Hang in there, Tom! Join us now-and-then for a break from pic moving. We value your input!

But if you can get rid of the yucky pics from the server it would be better to have a "not found" icon that that trash.

Did you save the images on your PC (hopefully with the same names). Can you delete the BAD ones and then upload the RIGHT ones with the same name so your links are still good - AND...I am sure you already thought of this CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD!

Yeah, I immediately changed my PW as soon as I saw all that physical activity on my listings! The really embarassing thig is Ralphie keeps asking: "What are they DOING, Daddy? Huh? Huh? Pant! Pant"

I'm sorry, Neglus, I'm not getting my story across...

This images were located in two folders at my image host...

Those TWO folders (along with the IMAGES in those two folders) DISAPPEARED three days ago...

The images in my affected listings then displayed a generic BLUE SCREEN stating: "IMAGES HAVE BEEN DELETED"...

THAT has been REPLACED today by the PORNO...

Since the FOLDERS & IMAGES are NO longer VIEWABLE by me in my image hosting site, THERE AIN"T NUTTIN I CAN DO TO THEM...

BTW: I don't NAME the images with this host, THEY do by adding to your file name...NOW TO GET RID OF THEM!

BTW: at least INK-FROG is working GREAT for me...

Tom, i had that happen with 2 photos about 4 yrs ago. From memory i went into my photo links on m
my auction sites and put up new photos by changing all the links to the new photos. That got rid of them.

There is a way of finding out where the photos came from but i dont remember how to do it now. At the time the person concerned was silly enough to have auctions up on ebay. So i wrote a note and slipped it into his site telling the world what he had done. as well as his own porn photos. kind of upset him. but it never happened again.

if i remember how to do it i will let you know.

Tom... I understand everything on your image host is gone. Did you not save the original images on your local hard drive, or on a cd? IOW, can you re-upload new or replacement images from your computer?

Hiya Sparky!

Of course, Ralphie & I practice "Safe-Image(STOREDON OUR HD)" as one can never be too careful in our modern DISEASED WARPED POOPY-BREATHED world!

THAT'S not a problem! The problem is going into 200 listings and re-loading all the images from a different HOST

A horrible nightmare, I'm so sorry this happened to you.

Since you already ended the auctions, guess you can't revise to delete the path so at least these don't show. Try Live Help and see what they can do, perhaps they can help at least remove the offending ones. What would happen if you relisted and removed the path in your html screen? And then at some point replaced it with the correct image?

I see this is the path under your image properties:
http://www.photocrib.net/is.php?i=50488&img=ST_001.jpg

What does photocrib say? Are they the ones not responding? They should simply be able to delete those images from their server.

B/

PS: Can't you do a bulk ftp transfer from one server to another or your computer to your new server? Or don't I understand ftp? At least that's what I did when I changed ISPs.

Tomwiii, What will happen if a shocked shopper finds those photos instead of the expected scale? I would think eBay would close down the auctions. Would that be more or less trouble for you than updating them all.

I wonder if it is a glitch with the image hosting. I once had a local ISP who messed up somehow and my web address was coming up as a local car dealer.

Hope you can get this fixed soon!

I had planned to switch ALL over to INK-FROG eventually -- just looks like soon than later...

THOSE are CLOSED AUCTIONS, I can't edit unless I relist..guess I'll relist sooner than later...THIS SUCKS!

Tom:

Did you pull the Whois data for PhotoCrib?

I called and they answered "IEntry" and asked for Richard Ord, per below. Not there was the reply.
I asked about PhotoCrib and they didn't acknowledge the connection...there is one though, you can't see it below, but the contact e-mail for PhotoCrib is:[email protected].

Please let me know if you'd like me to exercise any Mike Wallace tactics and I will be happy to oblige.

YES! Please & THANK YOU!

Find out what you can, as they are NOT responding to my NUMEROUS HYSTERICAL, yet gently SCREAMING missives!

They were sold out about 1 year ago, but that guy doesn't RESPOND either -- all the various permutations of email addies with PROTOCRIB in them just BOUNCE back to me!

YER KIND ASSISTANCE might (and I do stress MIGHT) calm poor ole Ralphie down & put an end to his odoriferous WMD response!

I hope it wasn't done by someone in community here who doesn't like your politics. I DO hope you can track the culprit and get him kicked off eBay.

And I wonder if someone hacked all Photocrib photos and they're dealing with it frantically and not responding to phone calls.

Tomwii, while you are waiting for Photocrib to take some action, I would contact eBay and tell them the situation.

If they can zap auctions into oblivion because of abuse, they should easily be able to deal your listings. Let's just hope they stop with the corrupted ones and don't wipe out your whole store!

Hi Tom;

Spoke with Nathaniel Drake, Director of Business Development with IEntry.com, the new owners, according to him, of PhotoCrib.
He's expecting your call:1-859-514-2720.
Identify your self as Tom re the eBay auction pictures to the receptionist and she should put you right through.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Michael

Tom, Can you sue the pants off the company for royally messing with your lively hood? You might want to go save the auction before it gets sent off into oblivion so you can have proof of the gross mistake of Photocrib.
You can save the webpage and the images into a folder for preserving all the details and images as proof if you happen to need it.

That is just sick what has happened to you.

Another thought can you go in recreate the folders and put the right images back into them and it should work for fixing your auctions IF you remember which photos go into which folders if that makes a difference. Change your password etc? Or did they hack you change your password and you can't even get into Photocrib?

Good luck. Ralphie, Here is a bone.

Tom - YIKES!!! Talk about doggie porn.

Good luck getting all your photo's switched over to the new host. Sounds like a royal PITA. Hang in there and don't let one jack **s's poor try at comedy ruin your febay fun.

P.S. - You better check under Ralphies doggie mat. I think I heard him say something about printing out copies of those auctions and hiding them there.

irked - Sue Photocrib. I highly doubt it. If they are like almost all other host including Vendio their user aggrement holds them completley harm free and not responsible for anything that happens because of their service and that they are completley financilly not responsible. They have rather air tight cover their ass contracts unfotunately.

Tom;

Good news...I don't know about a disgruntled employee...maybe just a screw-up internally...there's no scuttlebutt ( other than Ralphie's, of course) on the web re any trouble re images from them and trust me, there would be.
So, that leaves us with someone coming after you and I'd lean toward just a system snafu most likely happening when servers were changed.

I did find the board where this site was sold and it gibes with what Nataniel said in that the sale was completed on 05/01.
