We had the discussion awhile back about other people's auctions being on our closed listings and how you have to opt out.
While checking a Closed listing of mine while logged in to Ebay under my Seller's ID I saw other people's listings.
According to Ebay Live Help (is that an Oxymoron?) any auctions we launched and relisted using VD during the time period we were opted in still have the opt in. The only way to "opt out" is to create new listings.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Let me add this: They only show up when logged in under my buying id. They do not show up when using my selling id. Also, I just checked a listing that was done AFTER I opted out and it has other folks items on it to: 7229112950.
That irritates me.
Thank so for the rant.

I don't know how I would figure which of my listings were first originated during that period to check it out. It doesn't make sense though.

GRrr! At first I didn't think so - I clicked on an item in my feedback randomly...a VERY old item (can tell by the ebay #) and the cross promotion was there all right, WAAAAAAAAAAAY at the bottom of the listing. Better than at the top but not supposed to be there!

OK, here is a funny new twist. I went back to ebay live because an item that just closed was created after I opted out and it has other folks listings on it. The item number is: 7229112950.
Ebay live help says they don't see any cross promos from other sellers. OK, I'm logged in and I see them. So, will someone please go look and see if you see items from other sellers right above the thumbnail.
Thank you,
Beth

I opted out months ago and according to My Preferences, am still opted out. Yet a closed listing created 10 days ago promotes similar items from other sellers at half my price. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Beth - I see them. They're definitely there. All four listings appear to belong to the same seller who has their store on "vacation hold".

Live Help now says there is some glitch, technicians are aware, blah blah. Pixia has posted this on the PowerSellers Board so people are becoming aware.
Funny how the third Ebay Live person I talked to could see the other sellers listings.
They only show on your closed items to non-registered or ebayers other than you and your seller. Supposedly, they are not seen by the person who actually bought the item. I don't think I will email my winner and ask him if he sees them.
Oh well, Thanks everyone!

I've forgotten how we opted out, where we went in eBay to do that. Anyone? I just noticed in my Sellathon tracking that someone came to one of my auctions through "cross-promotion." Burns me up.

I told you all that Ebay was going to do that. At the same time when they rolled back the store searches. I just checked mine, and sure enough, other sellers crap is there as well. I will post how to opt out in the next post.

Edited to add, I didn't see the cross-promotion until I logged out and went back to the item. Pretty sneaky on ebay's part think that seller won't know and they don't search their listings when they are not logged in.

Don't know about you but nothing is showing up on mine. I did opt out a long time ago when they said they were going to allow this.

Bill, Did you sign out before you checked your listings? It has affected all that I searched, I don't know your eBay Id but I would be very surprised if it hasn't affected you too.

Bill, you better check your listings before you actually log in. I thought the same thing until I logged out and re-checked. Sure enough, eBay did change them.

WTF!!!!
Hello,
Thank you for contacting eBay. My name is Lora and I'm happy to help
you with cross promotions.
If you do not have any cross-promotions selected on a listing then other
sellers items will show up even though you are not participating in
cross-promotions connections. In order to change this you will need to
manually choose choose cross-promotion items to be shown.
After reading your email, I am unclear as to the exact problem you are
experiencing with your listing. I am ready to help you with this issue,
but for me to help, I need you to send in more information. This will
help me answer your question correctly. Please send back a detailed
explanation of your problem and I will reply to you very quickly.
It was my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing eBay!
Regards,
Lora S.

We need to get to the bottom of this! This is horrible. I wonder if this teenager who answered your question actually does know the answer?
