Have a few widgets on sale. I state buyers from USA only, only because I didn't feel like screwing with foreign mailing and money exchange...I got a question today from someone requesting permission to bid on an item, and they are from Finland. Would like the sale of course, but not sure how the exchange rate and things like that work. I accept Paypal, does Ebay or Paypal convert the amount they owe in their currency when they send a winning bidder notice to the winner if in Finland? Should I tell them yes if they use Paypal, even though in my auction I say I accept Money orders & checks?...HELP!!!...Thanks!

You do not have to set up PayPal to convert foreign currency. Because your auction is in USD, the PayPal payment will come in USD unless the buyer bypasses ebay when making payment. The conversion is done on the buyers end.

If it's an items that sells for a small amount then offer to accept well-concealed greenbacks (no coins) in a plain envelope. Finland has loads of bureau d'change in the major cities so getting US$ is easy. This reduces your charge back risk to ZERO.

Make it real plain in reply email that which you will accept. I have gotten well concealed cash and it has never failed to get here but then nothing is ever fail proof. I even had a guy from Italy send cash and he sent it registered mail to me. I even had to sign for it.
