I don't think you can set this type of notice up thru PayPal but can't it be set up in Vendio? I know in Works I can set up a Payment recived email to be sent out when I mark an item as paid but I have mine turned off since they get a receipt from PayPal when they send their payment anyway.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

If you create a shipping label thru paypal, you can set it up to where it emails the buyer item has shipped with DC number.
If buyer paid with PP, dont you think they know their payment should have been received? Unless of course, they sent it to the wrong email? Or do you mean when it has cleared? PP sends them an email I think. Pretty sure they send the seller an email on that as well???

I do not currently mark items as paid in vendio and do not use paypal to create labels. It would be nice if Paypal could automatically send out an email stating that payment was received and give further information about approx. shipping time.

You can set up Vendio to automatically send payment receieved notice through a feed from PayPal - you don't have to mark off anything - all done automatically (except it doesn't work for multiple items). It's the greatest thing!
and much more reliable than PP's WBN which often are sent WHEN the item is paid!

camodog, they do send the buyer a "you have made a payment email" or receipt for your payment - dont they? I seem to remember getting that as a buyer. As far as the shipping goes, you'd have to plug something in somewhere, how else could anybody know when you shipped if you dont use label services? You can use ebay mail or use vendio's post auction software. Ebay has the predesigned templates, but its cumbersome if you dont have their selling manager.

Really, Vendio has just what you want:
First enable PayPal to markoff Paid in Vendio automatically:
My Account->Sales Manager->Post Sale Acceleration to automatically mark PayPal pymts as "paid"
Then draft and turn on your automatic message:
My Account_>Post Sale Management ->Default Post Sale Mgt Messages -> Payment Received Notification ( turn it on and edit the default to say whatever you want)

Are you wanting to know if paypal can send you a notice that someone has made a payment to you?
If that is the case you can check that option to receive notification from paypal for every payment to you. You can also have it automaticaly notify you post sale in vendio as paid.
You can turn on that preference by logging into paypal - click on profile - 1st column under Account Information - click on notifications - then under payment notifications check the option (I receive money with paypal).
When someone make payment you will receive an email telling you from who and for what.
If that was not really not your question.
Maybe it is someone elses.
