I think I have my times all screwed up when I launch into the UK. I'm in eastern time zone. What time do I need to launch if I wish to launch at 8:00 pm over in the UK? I'm really bad at timing these. Everytime I think I have it down, they keep ending later than I intended them to.

Diane, UK is 5 hours ahead of Eastern time, (which I am in also). To have an auction close at 8 pm it would be 3 pm Eastern, but then you have to add the 3 hour West Coast difference, so if my calculations are correct, you would list them to begin at midday. I also get confused with the time changes, last week I went the wrong way with the hour change, so my auctions closed 2 hours late!!

Amber -- If I'm listing directly to the UK site, I shouldn't need to add the 3 hour west coast time difference. Right?

Bizzy...The correct time in England is the easiest time in the world to determine. It's exactly the same as UCT aka GMT or Zulu. Bookmark this site:

Diane, I guess if you are listing directly onto the UK site, then you just need to add the 5 hour difference. This time thing is so complicated!

Bizzy...Another easy way to do it is use Ralphie's method. Go to this site, which is the weather radar site for Jacksonville. Notice the top right corner of the image. In the white space on top is the local time which at the time I copied it was 7:10 P.M. EST April 9. Under it, on the image itself, is the time in Greenwich England which is 00:10 UTC (GMT) April 10 which is 10 minutes past midnight tomorrow. Note UTC is always expressed in the 24 hour format, meaning that at 1:00 PM in the afternoon, it will show as 13:00 UTC in Greenwich. The advantage of this method is it shows your local time, automatically updated for Daylight savings time, and their time also. By scrolling down to look at the radar image, Ralphie can see how far away the next tornado is so he knows how many more listings he can do before heading for the cellar
