Just signed up again after being relegated to occasional lurker status for a looong time! I was previously signed up when registering a CC wasn't mandatory (didn't post much back then). When it became so, I let my membership lapse as a didn't have a CC. Sorry it took so long to come back.
Signed up now because I've enjoyed reading the posts (and sometimes learnt something new in the process), and because once in awhile I see a posted question that I feel I can answer, or at least help to point one in the right direction. I'm sure I'll have a question myself, now and then.
You are all a great bunch. I'm somewhat familiar with many of the more prodigidous poster's names and know that though your backgrounds/beliefs/tendancies are widely varied, all of you come together to try to help out when you can. I've seen some of the fireworks that can happen when passions get stirred up so my hope is to also help when I can , to try to keep my comments on the positive side , and not to stir the pot unless absolutely necessary .
Now...it's my understanding that if one just wants to only post on the boards that there is/are no fee(s). Is that correct?
In filling out the registration form I unchecked "Image Hosting Plan". But since I filled out some info incorrectly, the form came up again on the very next page requesting the (unrelated) info be corrected (which I did), it seems that the "image hosting plan" box may have automatically re-checked itself. I didn't review the form before clicking on "submit" as I did not expect this to happen.
On reviewing my account after signing in I see that according to Vendio, in "My Service Plans" I've signed up for "Image Hosting" @ $2.95/mo as well as Sales Manager Merchandising Edition (Pay as You Go)@ "Monthly Fee: None, but $2.95 monthly minimum required".
The "Online Statements" page says my "online statement will be available in 1-2 days". I think I remember from an old post that I have to cancel image hosting from this page?
I'm also a little confused on the Pay As You Go. If there's no charge to post on the boards, why does it say there's "$2.95 monthly minimum required"? Is that only if one actually lists items?
Would appreciate help if anyone knows the answers.
ps. as my "handle" may/may not indicate to some, I'm from British Columbia and I enjoy the few local, early b/w rppc postcards that I have. I don't measure my collection "by the foot" yet (I'm betting some do, theirs). Might someday.

I'm 99% sure that you can register with your credit card and post or reply to messages in "Community" without having to pay anything.
Someone else here can help you with the rest of your questions.
Or, I suggest you post your questions below in the Vendio Services area and ask a moderator to help you. Put "moderator" in the title line along with a hint of your questions. Those folks are very good about helping, sometimes almost immediately.
If you've been signed up for some programs by mistake, they can go in and straighten it out for you. Lord knows they've helped all of us at one time or another, even us oldtimers.

Welcome BC! I know you can post without paying fees but I am not sure how you un-subcribe. Posting this question in the Vendio Service->Sales Manager Merchandising Edition and Image Hosting board (in the Community section below this) is a good idea. The pay as you go plan has a $2.95 minimum image hosting charge attached to it - I think you need to tell them you don't want ANY plan.

I agree. Had to file a CC number just to get to this point. I'm not entirely sure now, the day afterwards, but it seems that I was forced to choose (check mark) a sales plan in order for Vendio to accept my registration.
The unintended acceptance of the Image Hosting, I believe, arose when I accidentally dropped one number from my CC number when entering it (old keyboard with sticky keys).
I had previously unchecked the box in order not to accept Image Hosting, but after entering the incorrect CC number and then clicking the submit button, the registration form came up again requesting a valid CC number.
I reviewed the CC number and saw that I had dropped a numeral, corrected it, then hit the submit button without reviewing the various boxes to see they were checked or unchecked as set previously by me.
I believe (at this time) when the registration form came up requesting a valid CC number, the registration form automatically reset itself to indicate my acceptance of Image Hosting. If so, that would be a form of negative billing, but whatever... As long as I can cancel the image hosting prior to the billing "sticking", I'd be a happy camper.

If that turned out to be the case, that would be great.
