Tom, Glassgrl, anybody ?? I have always taken Global Express into PO.
Can I print using plain paper Global Express Label using Endicia, and still get a tracking number? And can I pack it in a plain box?
I use Endicia lots to send Airmail letter Post and Airmail Parcel Post but need a tracking number so Global WExpres is what I need to use. Is this doable on Endicia. I know the label is there is the tracking number. I do not want to mess up a $90 label.
Thanks in advance

dewer's:

Tell ya the truth, since I have to goto the PO WINDOW CLERK anyway when I ship internationally, I don't use Endicia to print out postage...

I'd rather the window clerk print out the postage, etc...

There's NO advantage to PC POSTAGE with INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING, since stealth mode is disabled & ya DO have to present to a clerk anyhoo...

just MMHO...

In the drop-down menu ( The drop down next to the BUY button) there is a template form for the Global Express label. In fact there are templates for priority, Airmail International, etc as well. They are located just above the Avery Templates. You can do a TEST PRINT on the label to ensure the orientation is correct.

Tom:

If you utilize the delivery pickup scheduler on the main USPS site, you can have the carrier pick up even international mail without having to ever go to the PO.

Ye be technically CORRECTO-MUNDO, but, in reality, speaking of da real-world, also INCORRECT!

Has more to do with the AIRLINES than the PO, and here's da PROBLEMO:

ALL customs forms MUST be post-marked!

MOST clerks donna know that! I have to stand there & remind them to PM the FORMS -- if the forms ain't POSTMARKED, the airlines REJECT da packie, & it comes BACK TO YOU!

I've had this happen TWICE -- once because da clerk forgot to do it, & once on a pick-up...

MORAL of RALPHIE'S STORY:

"Stand there in front of the window clerk & insure that he PM's the CUSTOMS FORMS..."

Tom:

Like anything else its a regional thing or if you get the person who alwys follows the regs on how to process things correctly or not.

I had packages bounce back that the PO came back that same day they returned them once I called to find out why a package I sent to the very same person the week before was now being bounced back. They admitted their error, came back with their tail between their legs and even corrected the mistake. One time in 2 years of using carrier pickup isnt bad - sure beats standing in line!

I guess its kinda like Delivery Confirmation. I would say half the time when I use carrier pickup do the items get scanned as they are supposed to.

Well..otoh...iow...NTM:

Here in JAX, the only way to insure that it gets done RIGHT is to goto the PO WINDOW & make sure that the clerk pm's the customs form -- I cannot take the chance again that the packie will float around for 5 or 6 days & then just show up in my box...

Also, in honor of beaten horses:

"...when I use carrier pickup do the items get scanned as they are supposed to."

Being scanned ANY TIME OTHER THAN DELIVERY is NOT included the service -- neither RETAIL DC, nor eDC provides for ANY scanning other than at the time of delivery...

Yer packie may accidentially be scanned at other points along its merry way -- but, if so, tis merely an ACCIDENT OF FATE & NOT part of da service...

Tom

I am aware that DC is different then package tracking - sometimes wish my customers would - but my reference was regarding when one initially prints the label on Dazzle a message is sent to the USPS alerting them that there "should" be a package utilizing that DC number etc. and then it is scanned along at the hubs it encounters and info is updated. I do get frustrated when I get the same emails Im sure others do saying they plugged the DC number in and all it says was that info about a package was transmitted on blah blah blah date .... and want to know where the package is ... I just remind them its not called "Delivery Confirmation" for nothing!

I do use Endicia to send International Airmail Letter Post and Airmail Parcel Post, took two with Endicia label to PO this AM.

I decided to take the Global Express unlabeled and let them do that one.

I have decide to start sending all Global Express though, it is not that much higher than Airmail Parcel. The postmaster (of course) said i do everything so well , why didn't I do the global Express on the net? (SAVES HIS TIME)
Well, the postage was over $90 and I am leary about how precise my scales are.

Thanks so much
