I'm not sure if this one has been discussed here but watch out for it!! I have been a PS for about 3 years but just got "invited" today by some scumbag scammer. If you ever get invited to be a Power Seller, make sure you go to the ebay site directly to "sign in".

Yes I've had a few of them. I lost my powerseller status in Febuary, (got distracted), and with-in 2 days received my "invite". Now I get 2 or 3 a week.

another new one for me was....."I paid for this item and have not received it yet..." has link to an eBay auction...but before you click the link..search the auction number..was a laptop that NO ONE won(reserve wasn't met)...also had one that ****** has sent you $228.00 through Paypal...never happened..checked paypal first...nothing there...gotta admit..they're getting better at trying to scam us into those links...

Glad you posted this one neglus. But now I feel like a real dumbazz. I never fall for this type of thing, but 2 days ago I got my invite. And I was just telling my husband, "I'm right on the edge of getting my Powerseller status back". Not that I really care all that much, but I figured...well isn't this easy, I'll just click on this nifty link and poof, I'm a Powerseller again. Gave me some message saying that on March 31st, I'll see my PS logo.
Now I see this post, go back and look at the email again, and guess what? It's a spammer and I gave them my info. But I think their site has been shut down and I promptly went into my eBay account and changed my password today. But don't see as they have done any damage in the two days they had my password. Should I be nervous?
Man, guess I'll pay more attention from now on. I am kicking myself as I write this...

I hate to sound like a broken record, but this can't be said enough. Clicking on a link in a spoof email will naturally take you to a page that asks for personal info of some kind. Those who get suspicious and back out before giving them that info, seldom realize that the fake site they backed out of could be infected and have dropped a keystroke trojan onto their hard drive. You don't have to give them your information. They'll get it the next time you log in to any site that requires a password. CTA...I would do an immediate scan of your system with a service other than your present AV program to verify that you didn't pick up a trojan. You can have a scan run from most any AV site, such as McAfee or Trendmicro. If you do turn up a bug lurking inside your system, get rid of it and change your password again.
