just wondering since I never really used bidpay.. since I'm dealing with a questionable transaction right now...
the buyer is from south africa but wants the item shipped to florida...not a big deal since it could be christmas present
the payment has been confirmed by bidpay and it says the money order is coming in a few days.. but it also says if the buyer request the item to be shipped anywhere else than the provided address in the email (a po box in south africa), I should notify them to make sure its not a fraudulent transaction.. though I dont know how they can make sure?
the buyer seems like a legit real person.. did a search on his email address and came up with a family business game/hunting farm in south africa...

I would notify them right away as per instructions that were in the approval email. I have done so a few times and have always received the go ahead authorization within a few minutes.

Bidpay is the safest way to receive an online payment. Log in to your Bidpay account to confirm the payment and it should be ok to ship the item immediately.
If this was a Paypal payment, then I'd be very worried.

If you get absolute confirmation from BidPaY, then just wait for the payment & ship. It is as safe as a USPS Money Order.

the question is -the buyer is in south africa and he wants the item to be shipped to florida,is it safe to do so?
i know some overseas buyers use a service based in usa to consolidate their shipments.
you may want to ask if this is the case with your south african buyer.

well I went ahead and email the address to bidpay as per instructed..
I'll just stick around and wait. I'm wondering would the money order from bidpay be void, if the funding source, (buyer's credit card) turns out to be a fake or stolen, etc.
bidpay is probably one of the safer ways to receive payment, yeah. since you're receiving a confirmed money order from a service... instead of a money order directly from a buyer (because money orders CAN be forged, and there are quite a number of forged ones out there... and you wont know it unless you check the security feature
its like those car buying scams that goes on from oversea... where car buyers send you a fake money order and you deposit it.. and the bank is required to make certain amount of funds available and even when the money order isn't cleared completely.. you think the money is in your account now... etc.
anyway this is two different thing. I'm just saying money order isn't perfectly safe too.

Wait until the check is in your hand. Once it is, go ahead and ship it to where ever the person would like it shipped.
