I signed on and sent several invoices to tonights winning bidders.
Then, I got everything ready to mail and tried to sign on again. But, it said my password was incorrect. After several tries I went through the "forgot password" (which I didn't, I use it many times a day since the sign on feature doesn't seem to work very often)
It stated my security question was: What street did I grow up on. I would never have that as my security question because I went to over 22 schools and didn't grow up in any one place.
Anyway, it did let me go ahead and request a password change because it still had my phone number and date of birth. I have changed it but wondered why it decided my password wasn't legit?

Hello!
It sounds to me like someone hijacked your account.
I checked "lindajean" on ebay (I don't know if that's your ebay name), and there is nothing on at the moment, but it could be that they are going to list items on your account soon.
I have some ebay phone numbers to help you, if you think that tater's what it is.

Call the PS support number and ask.
Your account can be restricted even to you if there are an excessive number of incorrect attempts to log in...and the threshold for "excessive" is quite low.

I did get the password changed. Not sure what happened though. It was a strange feeling to be denied access.

That doesn't contradict what I said.
You verified "you" were "you" by providing additional information.
If someone with a similar username screws up and tries multiple times to access your account, you can get a "password incorrect" error that forces you to correct it. That's precisely what happened to me.

I had the same thing happen to me about 8 months ago. I could not log in saying I had the wrong password. My Secret question was completely changed. One I would never use.
At around the same time someone tried to hack into my phone account as well. I got an email from them on how to get my lost password. I had not tried!
I changed my password and emailed Ebay.
I don't know what happened since I am the only one with access to the computer and only logged into the account through this computer. I never have nor ever will answer any of the spoof emails.
I then ran all my spyware and antivirus programs to make sure I got rid of any possible keylogger software spys.
I have not had any problems since. It was not fun, so I know how you feel
