I had lunch with a friend of mine today who, about 3 months ago, made her first purchase on E-bay. She bought some dishes. When the package arrived they were not the correct dishes. She paid with Paypal. Her Paypal account is backed by her credit card. She contacted the buyer and got all kinds of reasons. Tried calling the seller. Can't reach a live person - just answering machine. Will no longer answer her e-mails. Thought about returning the dishes COD but the return address is a Mail Boxes Etc. To make a long story short she contacted Square Trade. Hasn't heard anything back from them yet. Since her Paypal is backed by her credit card can she dispute the purchase with them? Any other suggestions? She said she will never buy off E-bay again. Such a shame

After 30 days paypal is not much help. She should dispute through her c/c company immediately if she has not done so already. Document as much as can be documented through emails etc. and send hard copies to c/c company when they request. Copies of phone bills with calls to the sellers number will also be helpful.

Paypal does not usually entertain "Item not as described" issues so its pretty much a moot point with them. Sorry for your friend, better tell her to go the CC route.

Paypal Does NOT help at all on Not As Described ....trust me I just went through paypal and they didn't do a thing for me. Husband ordered a intake for the old 57 and the guy said no cracks perfect ...YEAH RIGHT 3 Huge cracks the size of Texas and since we pay from funds straight for the paypal account were screwed because not as decsribed is not covered....Square Trades said oh sorry the seller never contacted on the problem try going to ebay to see about a small refund on your 68.95....So RUN to the credit card company and see if they will help.

Squaretrade is toatlly useless and would be an excerise in futility for this problem.
They are very efficient in accepting and banking $20 donations if you ever need to have a negative removed.
