I would like to put the actual search engine for ebay stores in my listings (not a link but have lookers type search words right from my listing). I know it's possible because I just looked at an auction where the seller did this. Does anyone know how??

I am making every effort to get exposure to my eBay store - too bad eBay doesn't help!

Go to the auction page where you saw it. Then click on View on your toolbar and either "source" or "page source". Then scroll down the page until you find the appropriate wording. The correct section will start and end with a script tag. You should be able to copy and paste that html into your own listing. You will need to change your store name and your store id number, and any other relevant text that you want changed.

Just a few days ago I used this method to put a store search engine on my about me page.

I don't know where you can test it, but I wonder if you go to list an auction (through ebay itself)... if on that last page where you can preview your listing, maybe you can test it there. Otherwise just list an auction and keep revising it until you get it right.

I thought about placing a search in my listings, but I think I would rather get people to my about me page first. Let them see all my categories, and then they can search if they want.

It's : Item 2191102832 ..it looks like maybe ebay seller's assistant was used to create the ad so maybe that's an option there..hope it isn't considered propreitary.

There is a catagory on ebay for test auctions. Not sure if they charge but it might be a good place to test you new toy.
