Ok, I've spent the last few days searching eBay and Google looking for any info on this bank so I can put in the right category.
As you see from the picture (hopefully!) the baseball player is wearing a Detroit jersey, but I thought Detroit always used that scroll style D. There's no maker's marks on it.
I know my grandpa used to go to Detroit on business but it was across so many years, I can't really narrow it down.
I'd even appreciate suggestions for websites to find something like this
