Maybe I am wrong but something tells me that the seller and the bidder in this one are one in the same or at least neighbors. Do the intelligence gathering (dates-feedbacks)and what do ya think? This stuff is worth about $80-$100, yet it has a $200 opening bid with a terrible pic and has 6 days left. 3125563502

MicMic66 - well your on the mark. All the engines appear to be Bachmanns and many of the cars are Bachmann. Some cars Athearn but nothing looks really old so the best your estimates in value are accurate. If the guy wants to waste his money on reserve fees and then bid on it, let him. True train collectors will skip right over this one.

I see nothing really suspicious about it. The bidder appears to be a newbie with a bit of bidding fever. He's bid on a number items from a variety of dealers. He's won 4 lots from 2 established dealers and paid both by Paypal. I have no idea of what the lot is worth. Maybe he sees, or thinks he sees, something special in the lot. I sometimes gamble on big lots of stuff hoping to find hidden gems. Sometimes newbie sellers don't know what they have. But, then again, sometimes they just overvalue their merchandise.

I don't see anything suspicious either. This reminds me of some of your previous suspicions. You shouldn't bring seller's names to the boards unless you have some facts to go on.

In case you didn't notice the other day, I checked out your suspicions from last month and still see nothing wrong.

"one in the same "
It's one AND the same...

Not suspicious. Why would a seller (even a new one) start an item at $200 with a reserve and then bid, not once but twice!? Wouldn't it make more sense to list without reserve and then bid $200 or $250 or whatever? It seems to me that the bidder has made two attempts to find the reserve. As a seller, we need more of these "neighbors".

With so many post about Suspicious auctions,it would make one wonder about the poster. I don't pay attention to anybodys auctions unless I'm wanting to buy something.

I was accused of shilling once and also copyright infringement. The shilling accusation came from someone who saw that a bid had been placed on one of my items from someone in the same town I lived in. I got into trouble with ebay and I ended up explaining that it is possible for someone else in the same town to use ebay, but the damage was done and I took the item off. Then sold it to the high bidder in my town anyway.
The copyright infrigement accusation came from a person who claimed I was selling bootleg videos. I stated in the auction that the tapes were copied from the master work print. I ended up in trouble again...lol.. and the auction got pulled. Then I got angry and sent ebay copies of my copyright that I held. They are my motion pictures. I made them and I produced them and I will do with them as I please.
I guess the message here is please don't always suspect auctions as frauds. This can really hurt honest people.
