I never shipped internationally until the first of last month. I was worried about the delay in shipping among other things.
Sure enough, today I have received two emails from buyers in the UK. Items were shipped, surface mail, on 2/18 and neither item has arrived.
I'm afraid of unwarranted negs over the slow delivery. Are all international bidders this impatient? The PO said it would take 7 to 8 weeks and it has only been a little over 2 weeks.

I advise them of all their delivery options times. The less expensive the shipping rate, the slower the delivery. On items under 1 lb, I will only ship Global Priority or Global Express.
That way they get the service they pay for. I have found most are understanding of the time it take to deliver the items.

I put the following in my sellers information space at Ebay checkout:
Shipping within the USA: $3.00 media mail, Canadian bidders will be the same $3.00 for surface mail, and all others please add $1.50 for surface mail.
The ones in question paid immediately with Paypal so didn't even wait for an EOA letter and did add the $1.50 so I assumed they knew it would be surface.
Edited to add that I have the same statement in my auction description but do state priority mail and air available when requested for exact shipping costs.

Surface mail overseas can take a long time...sometimes up to a month. Depending on the size of the package, you can ship items for Priority International Mail for $5 to $9 and it will get there in about 5 days. I can send videos for $5..provided I can squeeze it into the proper envolope.

I shipped a postcard last week to the UK and it arrived sooner than some of the domestic ones shipped the same day! (maybe it helps that i am in twin cities and NWA flies to london several times a day?)..
