I am brilliant! Take a 6 pound weight. Do the Post Office. Either parcel post or priority. Now sprinkle in some delivery confirmation or perhaps Some insurance. Send it to the farthest place from you. Anywhere. How much did you get for a total?
Now, go to UPS, jump through even MORE hoops. Do it to it. What did you come up with? Insurance for the first $100.00 is covered automatically.
Now my point is,,,,,we see UPS beats the Post office every time, correct?
Why bother jumping through UPS added hoops, esp. the measuring. and well you see the baloney. Just go the Post office charts, get their rates, and tell your customer the UPS rate is whatever the POST Office Rate quote was. Money in your pocket instead of the Governments and a whole lot easier to do. there is no shipping amount on the UPS box.
Brilliant!!!!!! Just brilliant!!!!
Use the Post Office rate and send it UPS.
Oh I already know someone will pop in here with the very few exceptions but across the board.....Walla!
Snap! snap! snap!,,,,,,Whiiiiiip it, Whiiiiip it GOOD! OOOOuch!

But do your auctions say who the carrier is? Only newbies or the inexperienced will not know you made extra, as many people know UPS is cheaper even if they aren't in business. So what?
I think you're brilliant. Why didn't I think of that?

As long as you are upfront with shipping totals, then you've got no problems. I thought USPS was cheaper on lower weight packages, but around 4 pounds it starts to become cheaper to go UPS

AAAAAAhhh,,,,,SSSSSSSnnnnnnnaaaaaAAAAAPPPPP it!!!!!! I gave a 6 Pounds Example. As the Norm. But, there are times when even 4-5 is still cheaper than the Postal people. Do some experimenting. I ain't even wasting my time going to the UPS chart any more right to the p.o. charts. Thank you the UPS rate is $12.68. Ups rate was $7.52.....I keep the diff. and yes ,who cares. Why give that money to the Government? And the post office chart is less steps. More money, Less steps, Yup! I like it.
Good Luck.

if it is over 2 pounds I usually do the UPS shipping. Just shipped 21lb punch bowl set across the country...$15.00...got there in 3 days in perfect condition...try that with the USPS....I think not.
besides that, if you have to file an insurance claim, payment through the USPS..about 30 days....UPS...10 days from filed to check in the mail.
