I need help selecting a good ISP in Mid Missouri. I have two AOL accounts and one CompuServe (CS) account. I had so much trouble with CS, that I have stop using it several months ago, it keeps cutting-off. AOL is now getting to be a real pain. It continuously freezes up, or is very slow that the web pages time-out and now started cutting-off just like CS. eBay is extremely slow to access.
I was going to change to earthlink.net, but when I called to find out the latest version of their software, I took over an hour to respond to my call. If I had a problem, I don't think I want to wait over an hour to have my problem resolved.
Does anyone have some recommendations? I am located on Columbia, MO a good size University City, there should be an excellent ISP available to us, I just don't know who that is, does anyone has a good experience with an ISP in this area?
Does any one know how to get the favorites and email addresses out of AOL & CS to transfer to new ISP? Any ideas?

Sure beat the hell out of BELLSOUTH SLOW ACCESS DSL
As far as dial-up, I've always been very satisfied with MSN -- I know it's UN-PC to admit liking ANYTHING MS, but I LOVE WIN XP & I LOVE MSN & I think Bill is geeky

There is a very famous website with ISPs listed with prices phone numbers etc. I have used it for years. Go to "thelist.com" Let's see if I can make an clickable link. If it doesnt appear clickable, you'll have to copy and paste the address into your browser.

I also have Comcast Cable Internet. I love it too. It is absolutely the best. I signed on with them for 6 months at 19.95, and then it reverts to the regular price of 39.95 after that. I will gladly pay it. No dial up, no busy signals, and very little slow periods.
Here's the easy math on Comcast. If you pay 19.95 a month for one of the big name dial ups, you will pay almost double for Comcast. If you divide 30 days per month into the extra 20 bucks, then it's only 67 cents per day more, than say AOL. Ask anyone who has had both and I'm sure most will say Comcast is worth the extra money. This would be true especialy if you do a lot of work on ebay. It saves so much time, frustration and waiting.
I live in Michigan and I use this example when telling others about Comcast Internet. The difference is like driving to Florida in a car at 70 mph, or flying there in a jet. It's that simple! If you can swing it, get cable internet.

i am sure you can convert to AOL cable where you are moving to,i paid 23.94 a month for one year subscription.
it freezes sometimes, but much better than dial up.
MSN also would want you to switch from aol, they will forward your aol emails for 2 months ,i think

I agree with the others as long as you are switching go to DLS. I use one that is hooked to my cable company & pay one bill. My phone billed dropped enough to cover the additional rate, plus no more missed calls, no one whining to use the phone when others are on the web. I recently downloaded some software estimated time with an ISP 2 hours. DLS did it in about 15 min.
