Is it just me, or is anyone else getting many more bid retractions than usual? I got one on Friday and now another today on 2 different auctions. Each of the bidders have 16-18 bid retractions in the past 6 months, so it isn't a case of mistyping. Does Ebay keep track of this at all except for listing it on the person's feedback page? Is there anything that a seller can do? Do buyers do this to test the waters and see how high the proxy bidding will go? This is really getting annoying. Thanks for any insight, Merrie

Being a Canadian without a credit card, there is no way I am allowed to sell on eBay, but I am an experienced buyer with a high FB, no negs, and no retractions.
I thought eBay had a policy on bid retractions ... if a bidder does this too many times, s/he is suspended. I cannot see how someone with 16 -18 retractions during a 6 month period can still be allowed to place bids!

Personally I have only had 1 bid retraction since this policy was instated and only one dead beat in three years.

These items were in 2 different categories one is a doll, the other is a porcelain collectible. One of the bidders found the same item listed for a lower price and then bid on that one. I looked up his bid history and saw it. Buyers need to do their research before they bid.

There is a limit. I am not sure at the moment what it is, but I now with that many, you should report it to ebay. Sounds like someone that is selling the same item as you are, is up bidding your item (using a second id) over their own until theirs sells, then retracts the bid once their item has sold or received a bid.
