I had a buyer return an item and I issued a refund. When I go to the form to file a FVF credit all I can find is the form to file an NPB alert and then a credit request.
Since this person paid on time, how can I request the FVF credit without filing a NPB alert on this person? Thanks, Lauren

I believe that if you select the 'Both parties mutually agreed not to complete the deal' option, it automatically takes you to the FVF page.

Yes, you have to use the FVF form but there is a spot to check about refunding. I haven't used it in over a year, but at that time it was confusing because I had to check that I had "not received payment". I had received a payment, I just gave it back! It took several emails before someone finally told me to go ahead a check that box to get to the page so I could indicate that the money had been returned. An automatic email is sent to your bidder that ask them if it is true that they sent no money and then goes on to state that a refund had been given. I hate the form and think it could be better designed. Maybe they have changed it in the last year.

Anyway, before I filed, after finding out how confusing the form is worded, I emailed my buyer and explained to them that they would receive an automated form email stating I had filed for my FVF and was it true that they had sent me no money. Then it should tell them that it would not be held against them since it was a refund or WE HAD muturally agreed not to complete the transaction. It was eBay's way of making sure that I was not trying to cheat eBay by claiming no money was received/kept when in fact it may have been and they would be advised to respond ONLY IF I HAD KEPT THE MONEY.

It seemed to work and the buyer didn't get all freaked out when they got their automated form letter.

You need to file the NPB first. You will need to click the link that you gave a refund. Then you will need to wait the 10 days to file the FVF.
Be patient and let the process do its thing.

Nein! No! Nyet!

I just did 2 REFUNDS yesterday & the CREDIT was INSTANT & it DON'T count against the buyer!

Use the REFUND option &, if you refunded 100% of the HIGH BID, choose "RECEIVED NO MONEY"
