Why is Ebay offering private feedback? I am a new seller to ebay and I have a person bidding on a few of my auctions and her feedback is listed as private. I am somewhat uncomfortable with this and I am not sure what to do. Should I cancel her bids or is there a valid reason for having your feedback private? Thanks for you help!

I can't remember if you can click onto their feedback to see how long they have been registered at eBay, or not. If you can, and if they have been on eBay for awhile, it can be safe to follow through.

Also, there are reasons why a person has private feedback other than bad stuff. Even Rose O'Donnell's charity has private feedback cause a few years back folks were leaving pretty bad feedbacks (this was when the feedbacks weren't required to be transaction orientated).

Speaking of celebrities, some celebrities do buy on eBay and even though some go through their agents or managers, they still treasure their privacy.

I have been buying and selling on eBay for over 4 years, never have had a buyer with private feedback but I wouldn't be too concern unless I found out that they haven't been on eBay for very long. That would raise my eyebrows, but I would give them a chance. That's up to you.

Good luck!

From personal experience, I have had a few with private feedback and never was it good. In every case, it turned out to be a deadbeat trying to screw up the auctions. I know cancelling bids means cancelling sales, but it probably won't be a sale anyway. Just a month long headache once you get your FVF back.
Good luck
