I'm trying to find the value of a fishing book that I found. I've checked addall and amazon, but there are no copies for sale. But on amazon there is a buyer waiting for this particular book who is offering $80. I hate to sell it for $80. when I don't know the true value. Should I take it or be greedy and try to get more? Are there any other places to look to find books value?

I use addall, abe, Barnes & Noble, and bookfinder.com
Sometimes you find books that are not listed anywhere but they still don't go for very much at auction. I know the vanity press books where writers pay to have they own books published are rarely listed and have almost zero value but there are other books can be real lemons too and not be found on any book search engines.

Value would depend on condition, age, demand, rarity, subject matter. Books about fly fishing are the most popular and demand the better price. Try entering the book title and author into a search engine such as google.com.
