I have never listed items with a reserve.
I always list items at the amount I'm willing
to sell, and usually use a Buy It Now to
make quick sales to those who just can't
wait. I have some items that didn't sell
that I feel might sell if I list them low
and have a reserve and BIN (at least I'd
like to try that). eBay doesn't seem to
want to let me do that on a relist (ie, I
enter the Reserve, but it doesn't add the
fee to the list at the end and the top of
the preview page says it is not a Reserve
auction). Can anyone tell me if this is
possible? I tried on a new listing and it
listed the fee and said it was a Reserve
auction...

So in other words, no, you can't use a
Reserve on a relist? That seems silly,
but then little about eBay makes sense...

In regards to the Buy It Now portion of your post. I only use the BIN price if I've researched the item and found that on eBay it tends to sell within a certain price range. Then I can use the BIN for impatient shoppers. If the item is unusual or has a weird bidding history from completed auction searches then I forgo the use of the BIN in hopes of a bidding war ( rarer and rarer these days on eBay ).
