Is anyone using third party promotional tools to drive additional traffic to their online auctions. What services do you use and how effective do you find them to be?

About 3 months ago TIAS launched a new service called the TIAS Exchange. It allows sellers to promote their Web site, online auctions or even sell individual items.

What makes it different is that the sellers ad is promoted in the "Collectors Newsletter", which goes out to 185,000 opt in email subscribers who are interested in antiques and collectibles. The newsletter goes out twice a week.

More information on the TIAS Exchange can be viewed at: http://www.tias.com/stores/tiasexchange/ads/boywithvase.html

The service was originally designed for individuals who were interested in selling one or two items, what appears to have happened is that online merchants seem to be using it to promote their Web sites and "High End" items.

Is this the type of service that eBay sellers might want to use, or are most merchants satisfied with the traffic that eBay sends them?
