They have been up & down intermittently for the past several days. I have auctions ending *right now* and yet again, there are NO PICS showing up on my auctions, as they are DOWN AGAIN!

I am tempted to request my money back and sign up with a different company. Problem is, I don't know of any other services that host pics & have an easy listing program where the price is REASONABLE. Any suggestions???????? I'm about at my wits end with Auctiva.

I can't help you find a site that does both image hosting and auction launching/PSM, but I use AuctionTamer for auction launching and PSM and PhotoIsland for image hosting. I've used AT for more than a year and am quite pleased.

At a minimum, you should find a new place to post your images. Auctiva photos load slow even on good days.

e-girl: All my small-wristed problems were solved when I dumped E-Dud for:
www.THEsiteWhichDareNotSpeakItsNameHereForFearOfBeingSlappedUpSideTheHeadByTheMods.com

Especially now that they fixed (apparently) the page-load problems -- they be perfect and reasonably priced!

Plus they aren't on www.****edCompany.com's do-do list & they haven't canned 99% of their staff!

Tom: I must say I don't think I've ever read one of your posts that didn't make me laugh

Anywho, is there any way I can find out what program you use?? I know you used to use Rover, but they've changed. Is that the one you use now? Or is it a different one?

I have been using Acutiva almost since inception as ePoster when Jeff was a one man show and did ePoster at night after 8 hours at his day job. I think he charged about $40.00 a year and was embarrassed it was so much.

I have found that Auctiva works better if you have it FTP your pictures to your own web site or space. There seems to be less chance of it not working since you don't get hung up on Auctiva's servers. Maybe it is pure luck but I have had only one instance when I couldn't get my auctions to load using Auctiva, and it is more than 3 years now. Which isn't to say I am happy about the a cost, but it I guess I am used to it and I won't use anything where I have to FTP the images and cut and paste the link.

Anyway, Tomwii, I am open to suggestions about other services. It took me a minute but I think I got it. However before I investigate another listing program I seem remember that you had a black cloud following you around for a while with these services either crashing, raising the fees by a zillion, or going out of business. Is the cloud gone?? Is it safe now?

I use Auctiva and really like the program. I know they've had problems as of late but I blame eBay and all their changes.

I agree with the above poster who said that it is a mistake to host your pics w/ Auctiva. They load waaaay too slow, plus with the down time obviously it hurts the bidding.

I use Auctiva for the Poster and eBud, but I host my pics with the very affordable BayPal. Piece of cake to use.

Good luck, EG! (Wish you had a good customer story to share with us! LOL!)

Tom --

Or should that be:

www.TheSiteThatDoesn'tSeemToKeepTheSameURLFromOneQuarterToTheNext.com

But hey...we're still the same people. Just a different company logo. While we're usually better priced for sellers that sell a lot, some of the other services are better for those that sell a few here and there, or maybe they have other features people like better than ours. (I have no clue what those might be, since I know we have a friendly staff and that's all you really need. )

ExecutiveGirl: The people haven't changed, just the name. And Tom still likes us most of the time (I think).

Marshall ~

I quit using ex-Rover because they don't have a program you can use offline. Has that changed?

The proverbial dog is out of the bag!
Yep! I'm still at Bark!Bark! after trying just about every other system out there!

I'm very PC challenged and the only two I found that worked for a dumbo like me were AW and ChannelBouy or ChannelDredging (or whatever they be calling themselves this month)!

AW does NOT have the API (and with the financial woes--how can they ever?) -- so I stay put as that API is FANTASTIC!!

CS answered my last question in 15 minutes at 9:00PM EST!!!

They be very intuitive for this ole boy (read: simple to use!!)!

Me very happy doggy now!

I've been using Auctiva for awhile now too. Started out with just Poster and then started using eBud when they combined and charged 1 fee.

Image hosting? Don't blame it all on Auctiva. I host my photos with my ISP and they've been up and down this past week, which has NEVER happened before. (Earthlink). Does anyone know of ANYPLACE that will host your photos and guarantee 100% uptime? I doubt it.

I think this new virus that is going around has hit a lot of servers that are now acting strange. I understand it can be spread by various ways other than email which makes it hard to control.

I get frustrated with Auctiva too, so I look around and can't find anything I like any better. I don't like services that require you to prepare your auctions online and some of the others are just too hard to learn. Guess I'll stick with Auctiva for now (just wish they could get their scheduling beta working right!)

I got fed up with Auctiva about three weeks ago--they take FOREVER to answer customer service requests--I reported a problem on Sept. 3, and it has yet NOT been reseolved, although the CS rep gave me a resolution date of 11 or 12 Sept.

I have switched to Shooting Star software at foodog.com. It automatically FTPs pics to your own site, just as Auctiva does. The end of auction management options are robust--heck, it will even print a u-pic insurance report to send to u-pic. Excellent email and invoice templates--and shipping labels too. All my questions have been answered within 3 hours. The auction template is better looking than AUCTIVA's. And, it's $49.95--$39.95 to OAUA members.

I'm very pleased. Now if I can just get my AUCTIVA Showplace closed--it's still listing over 2000 zShops items that have already sold . . . Very professional . . .

I FINALLY got Auctiva to close the showplace by being a real PITA and posting support requests about once an hour. It worked but there really should be an easier way to do it.

I only use the showcase feature of Auctiva..and I really like(d) it..however, it hasn't worked for over a week no..no link on auctions, no pics in the showcase, little help to resolve the issue.
Question: is there any other service that offers an Auctiva type showcase (besides Andale)? Either free or for a fee...I don't mind paying if the service WORKS! LOL
Thanks
O.C.

Since it is such a pain to get staff at auctiva to close the showcase. I know I've tried. Just delete your marketplace (amazon, ebay, yahoo) id AT auctiva. Then the links cannot be created.

However at this point even if you have the correct stuff links aren't being created. (you kinda are already closed like it or not)

Slowly, one by one, I am removing all the auctiva showcase links and logos from my offerings. I thought the showcase looked great, I but I will not have my bidders clicking on a non functioning service. It makes me look bad.

Murph: I took a look at the Shooting Star software and even downloaded it, but became overwhelmed because it had pulled in all of my ended auctions and it seemed a huge task to update all of them. How did you handle that? Just ignore the closed auctions that you had already processed and concentrate on the running ones? It seemed that there was no good starting point.

My only problem is that I've renewed my Auctiva for another YEAR so I guess I would be out that money. I'm sure there are no refunds!
