Anybody in the know? The site is down for two days now. Their software isnt working because it can't make the connection to the server to validate my use. eBud isn't working now either. Their main site is down, the 'community' site is down. It's like they went out of existence.

I use Auctiva Poster and it's working fine for me. Last night from 7:00-9:30 pst it wouldn't let me post any auctions, said it couldn't connect to my FTP site. But around 9:45 it went through and I posted 6 auctions. ???

I think you should check again. Last night I was getting "Cannot connect to site. Please try again in a few minutes."
Now I'm getting "Internet Error. The Server Name cannot be resolved."
If I try to go to their site with the browser, I get errors that are similar. It's like the domain no longer exists.

I've had problems with them too, for the past 2 days. Main website is down, pics don't work, can't post, and they don't even have the decency to let their users know what's going on!! There are SEVERAL posts on their message board about the problems and as far as I've seen, not one person from Auctiva has answered any of the complaints.
I wish I didn't just pay them $120 for another year's "service"!! Maybe if we all requested credit for these days they are down they will get their act together??

Okay...here's what I get....I have found that if you want to update auctions that you currently have running, in ebud, open the datacard for the listing, then click CONFIRM DATA at the right side of the window. This will go to the auction page and update the new current price for you in ebud.
It is tedious because you have to do it for each listing. Luckily, it may work like this until auctiva gets things back again. the only bad thing is that you cant add any new listing into ebud but it may help with keeping up with your auctions that are running right now.
Now you cant even get to the front page of auctiva as of 7:30pm EST

I actually got through to them on the phone about a half hour ago.The man said their servers were 'attacked' so they had to shut everything down.BUT he said they were working hard to get everything back up and running.SOUNDED like he meant it,so I'm gonna keep trying through the evening to see what happens.

Thanks for the info wildwear, but did they say what they were attacked by? And did this happen today? Because I've been having intermittent problems for the past 2 days.

ARRRGH!.....so we are all in the same boat and cant use ebud or eposter. Does anyone know of a way that we can get auctions listed using the files from eposter with the suffix .eby?
Or are we unable to get the html out of these files so that we could post them manually at eBay?
If we cant post using eposter....has anyone found a safe easy alternative to eposter?
I have 7 listings all done and ready to post tonight with eposter not working. I didnt get any listings posted last night because of the problem and dont want to go another night with no new listings on eBay.
thanks in advance - chris

No,the man was helpful but seemed like he didn't want to really chat too much.I think I surprised the hell out of him by actually getting through (had called earlier in the day and got their voice-mail). Also his english wasn't all that great so I didn't push it. I asked if they were "o.k." and he said yes and that about concluded it!

It's probably NIMDA --it's hit some web sites and is slowing down a LOT of places on the web. That's one of the things it's designed to do.
My web site couldn't be accessed (or even 'found') for several hours night before last because of the slowdown. My web service provider wasn't even infected. The problem was the webwide slowdown caused by NIMDA.
More information on Nimda can be found here

Hello,
We detected some suspicious activity and needed to shut down our servers to investigate.
We should be back online now minus the uploading of new files to our image hosting. This should be back online in the next 24 hours as well. All images in current auctions are not affected and should display normally now.
Thanks,
Auctiva Support

ebud Tom T - thx for being the 1st real live auctiva person that we've heard from.
ebud still isnt refreshing so maybe your post was a bit faster than yer buds at auctiva were able to tackle it.
I will keep trying as I still have a window of time for posting tonight left open for a while.
It is just soooooooooo hard to express our frustration when we've come to rely so heavily on auctiva for our auction mngmnt. and we cant do what we are supposed to. I as well as many other loyal users would be lost if we had to figure out a new way to work.
thanks - chris

I managed to get on the Auctiva website but now it seems down again.
They have released a new version (2.85) In Auctiva Manager (ebud) go to Tools and then click on the new Update Versions button.
I just did this and the new version refreshes fine and also retrives ebay fee's.
Thanks for the hard work Tom and the rest of the Auctiva staff.

I'd like to suggest to TOM and the people at Auctiva something I've suggested to them in private, but never got a reply. Now it's time to get public.
I support your right to use a license key based on your server to protect your interests. However, you SHOULD build a mechanism into this program (ePoster) that allows it to operate on a temporary basis (say 5 days) when it can't reach your server. eBud already does this - if it can't verify the license, it operates anyway (for how long I don't know, and it constant lets you know it can't verify you requiring manual intervention) but the point is IT OPERATES.
ePoster should work the same way. There is no reason to idle all your customers when your servers are down. We depend upon these programs for our livelyhoods - especially now with the current downturn.
PLEASE consider this minor, but necessary modification. (I hope he comes back to read this). If any users agree with me, please let Auctiva know your feelings. I'm tired of this happening over and over. There is no reason for it.

Auctiva website is back up. You need to update your software to 2.85. The only way to do this at the moment is with the "Update Version" button in 2.84.
So if you are on an earlier version just go to the download page and update to 2.84. Once this is done you can update to 2.85.

jsumberg - I am with you 100% I rely on auctiva for all my auction needs and since I HAVE placed all of my eggs in thier basket, I feel that they owe me a way to forge ahead if a problem like this pops up again.
I can update current listings in ebud through using the confirm data button but no other feature is working for me right now. It was until yesterday when it started not being able to validate my account.
I love ebud and always have but i am getting heart failure hear trying to do my work.

OMG - does anyone know how i can update from 2.82 to 2.84 WITHOUT having to download the almost 10meg file?
I just updated to 2.82 a couple of weeks ago and that was around 8megs and took like 40 minutes.
I remember last year, when there were problems, auctiva had little zipped updates that you could download and open and everything would work fine.
I can not afford a 1 hr. download and install tonight as my window for listing in my category is only from 10pn - 11pm EST so that they end at the correct time next week.
any ideas anyone?

I'm just trying to figure that out myself. Looks like I'm screwed and have to download a 10 meg file at 26.4k. Why they don't ALWAYS make a small EXE incremental update available is beyond me. Well, I guess I have to choice. I better get started so I can be done by 11pm
