I need to install a patch from microsoft and I need to differentiate which version of Internet Explorer I am running. I looked in the books that came with the computer and it just calls it IE but no version numbers that I can find. If anyone knows how to find out, I could use a hand here!! Thanks AW Folks. I'll be back in a little while.

Open IE and pull down the "Help" menu and select "About Internet Explorer." A box will pop up which will tell you which version you have.

Go to "c" drive, open the program files folder, open the internet explorer folder and right click on the "Iexplore" icon. Then click on version.

Any opinions as to 6.0 over 5.5? I still have 5.5 and am hesitant to update again because it seems there are problems to overcome every time.
