I just read on another board that Meg said on Good Morning America today that Ebay would keep 8 to 12 percent of AFA. Let's stop and realize how very much money they tend to gain even at 10 percent of $100 million. We must stand together and let our voices be heard in this atrocity. Every dime raised should go to the victims families. We are told daily to watch out for gougers. It is a shame that anyone, let alone Ebay, would line their pockets with one dime at the expense of what America has just gone through. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!

That would be a revalation, if true. Are you sure she wasn't saying that ebays share of the donations costs them 8-10%? ie. their costs to support the fund?

What? Maybe they are giving it to Bush for the free advertising? 8 to 12 percent of 100 million!!!!!! I would like to have Ebay explain themselves on that one too.
I had another thought about this whole thing.
United Way said they were giving 100% of the
A4A monies, unlike other times. They will probably just syphon off a bigger percentage of their yearly drive donations to cover their "maintenance" fees.
Sheeze, am I getting cynical or what.

eBay stated last night in their live chat that 100% of all moneys, including interest, would be given to the charities in a series of regular periodic payments.
United Way has said that 100% of "this" money would also go to the victims. But any intelligent person knows that, as a result of this massive influx of cash, UW will not be giving away any of the "other" money they would ordinarily have given. They will be using that "other" money for "other" things, like salary hikes, fancy dinners, and other "necessities".

I just saw the Meg interview and that report is completely false. She didn't say anything about keeping any of the money.

I strongly second the comments about not disseminating inflamatory "information" like that. I heard the GMA interview, and Meg said nothing of the sort. The rumor that she did helps noone, eBay included, and hurts those of us who have serious and valid objections to this program by trivializing those objections with nonsense.
