I've got a number of new books--hardback, softcover--listed on Half.com but they aren't moving, even when I set the price very competively. So I'm trying on eBay, combining three books at a time with a similar theme; i.e. cookbooks and computer/technology books. These are all brand new, never read. I set them at a low opening bid, put a "buy it" option price and tried to put them in the correct category. Not getting very many views. Any suggestions?

I really don't have any great advice for you, but I do know sales are slow right now. I too sell on Half and Amazon and sales were very slow between the 4th of July and Labor Day. After Labor Day things really started picking up in my books sales until the WTC tragedy after that everything half, amazon, ebay dropped off considerably I think basically its just going to take some time for thing to pick up again.

I make my living or should I say,did make my living selling books. I list on Half.com and Amazon.com, mostly Half.com.
You couldn?t have picked a worse time to get into book selling. A little before Labor Day things started slowing down a bit. I figured it was people getting their children ready to go back to school and maybe the last opportunity for a family vacation before school starts.
Sure enough shortly after labor Day sales did start getting better again. That was until until the WTC tragedy on September 11th. From the 11th - today I?ve sold 16 books, which represents about $62.00 in total sales.
I have never had such mediocre sales. Of course then again I have never gone through an attack on the United States either.
I am hoping things will pickup soon before becoming critical for my family and I.

I suggest you put the books on Amazon Marketkplace. In regards to your "similar themes" I think this would only work in a limited number of circumstances (computer/technology being much too broad).
