Hello Gang! We have this mystery musical instrument thing, maybe for a drum? We are stumped and no one we know can identify what this thing pictured below is exactly. Can anyone help identify this? Thanks to all.

Do you not have a music store near you that you could take them to? They look like they could be for a drum set, but then again...
I'd find a good musical instrument shop and ask them. They're really pretty.

It's a percussion musical instrument.
Called what it looks like: coconuts.
Remember the skit with the three monkeys playing instruments by Ernie Kovacs? I think it was coconuts used for the last riff each time just as the monkeys looked up.

Yes, some kind of percussion instruments, could be Caribbean in origin, but the origin is just a wild guess. Different sizes for different tones.
These might be wanted by a drummer to add to his or her kit for an added variety of sounds. Or, there will be percussionists that want specialty instruments like this.

Here's a website that might help you. I knew as soon as I saw them that they were percussion instruments, but I didn't know what they were called (thanks, capotasto!). I thought of suggesting that you contact the nearest chapter of the Musicians Union as a way to sell them, but I thought of putting "percussionist" in a search engine. I came up with the following:
It looks like they have a message board, so you would probably get a VERY good idea of what price to set or if people are interested (and unlike AW they may allow links to actual auctions, and that would be a GREAT way to get to your target audience should you decide to sell).
