Before eBay gets around to proofreading their announcement about the outage posted at 18:06 today (10/15) -- hop on over there and enjoy their freudian slip. It says: "Difficulties in performing the tuning led to us deciding to ****fail**** over to our hot backup system. The eBay site was again available at 17:50 PDT." grins

Actually, e-Bay used the correct word -FAIL- because it did not stay up. It sort of Yo-Yo'd for about 30 minutes. Wonder why they do not have some sort of quality control to check their announcement board. I read my auctions when I get confirmation and revise if I find any typo errors. I recall the one where the seller used a t instead of a p when he mentioned how soon he would ship and that was enough for me to read my stuff over carefully.

Yep, it actually IS the correct technical term for the action they took.
