I buy a lot of my clothes off eBay but am constantly frustrated by sellers that don't include measurements on their items. Yes, I could write but I generally don't because - after I write - I usually have a problem going 'back' to where I was. So I just don't bid.
Sellers - *please* include measurements!!! Manufacturers sizes range all over the place. A size 14 to one might be a size 18 to another.
Oh yeah - one more thing. I've seen x-large defined as 'size 12 - 14'. Guess what? The average woman in America wears a 14. Therefore, '14' should not be called 'x-large'.

I sell clothing and include measurements in all of my auctions.
Tops: Bust, waist, length and sleeve measurements
Pants: Waist, hips, inseam measurements.
For anything that's elastic I give the relaxed and stretched measurements.

Amen! That's why I include measurements in all of my auctions. Yes, it makes it a pain to prepare my listings, but it sure saves me time later in not having to field a bunch of questions. Plus I don't lose potential customers Also if a garment says it's a 3X, but the bust measures at 48", I'll put 1X in my title because there's no way that's a 3X.
I run my auctions like how I like to see them. The only measurement I don't include is sleeve length. Measuring from the shoulder seam is useless as you never know if it's a dropped shoulder or not or how dropped. My mother showed me how to measure a sleeve more accurately (as we are both tall with longer arms).
Measure from the back center neck, over the shoulder, down to cuff on the garment. On yourself, start at back center neck, go over top of shoulder, under elbow bent at 90 degrees to wrist.
As a taller person, I hope that educates someone! I have asked a couple of sellers to measure a sleeve like that for me. The measurements ranged from accurate to no where near close. Maybe we should start a class on how to measure clothes?

I always go with MEASUREMENTS, not label size. I measure side seam to side seam at the bust, waist, hips. Then double it. A bust of 46 is NOT a bra size 46. I fit a bust of 44-46 and my bra is 38C (sorry for the info, but its for example). I state how I measure in my ABOUT ME page, and I tell folks to read and measure before bidding. If waist is elastic, then I give stretched, unstretched. If a bodice will stretch, I say so. If it doesnt, I say so. Buying clothing without trying it on is difficult, so one MUST tell everything there is to tell. Also, label sizes are wrong. Carole Little makes a size 6 that will fit me, and Im a size 14. ONE SIZE FITS ALL, from Indonesia, usually is a size 10 (the gals over there are smaller boned). So make sure in descriptions you state all the measurements and explain the bidder needs to measure themselves to make SURE it will fit.
