I've been racking my brain, trying to remember the song titles of all the big hits by that famous eBay Group "The Deadbeats".

I can recall 4 of them, maybe you remember the others?

The ones I still find myself humming from all too frequently, are:

Their anthem, the always powerful & totally annoying: "DEAD & BURIED (BUT STILL BIDDING)"

Their 20 minute electronic "white noise" guitar dirge, filled entire side 1 of their 1st LP: "NEGATIVE FEEDBACK"

Their catchy up-tempo dance number that somehow raises your temperature far above where it should actually be: "DO THE SHILL"

And their weird punk-country-religious melody: "SORRY (I'M SO VERY VERY SORRY)

So if you can recall any of the other greatest hits of The Deadbeats, add em here!

"I HAD A MISACARRIAGE." How can anyone resist that song? I hope it was true. I felt bad after that blazing negative feedback I gave. Especially since she was buying kids' toys! Awful, sad song.

50 Ways to stiff your seller
(my apologies to Paul Simon)

"The problem is inside my PC", she said to me
The answer is easy if you take it logically
I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free.
There must be fifty ways to stiff your seller.

She said "it's really not my habit to deadbeat"
Furthermore I hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued
So I repeat myself, at the risk of being NARU'd

There must be fifty ways to stiff your seller, fifty ways to stiff your seller.
Just block the email, Dale, make a new plan, Stan
Write a good story, Rory, just listen to me
Hop on the bus, Gus, don't need to discuss much
Just get a new ID, Lee, and get yourself free

She said "it grieves me so to see you in such pain"
I wish there was something I could do to make you smile again
I said, I appreciate that, but would you please explain about the fifty ways
She said, "why don't we both just bid some more tonight"
And I believe, in the morning you'll begin to see the light

And then she kissed me and I realized she probably was right
There must be fifty ways to stiff your seller, fifty ways to stiff your seller

Just block the email, Dale, make a new plan, Stan
Write a good story, Rory, just listen to me
Hop on the bus, Gus, don't need to discuss much
Just get a new ID, Lee, and get yourself free

Mayfair: what a riot! Made my day. Thanx.

And now for some Presley hits:

Don't Be Cruel (to your seller)
It's Now or Never (or I'll give you a neg)
Return to Sender (bad merchandise)
Suspicious Minds (where's my money honey)

What a great thread!

True story of one of my deadbeats:

"I won your auction
And I didn't pay
Cause I rolled my truck
The very next day

I busted both arms
And I broke my back
But I still kept bidding
As they strapped me to the rack.

Now you got the nerve to neg me
And cause me more strife?
Get off your computer
And go get a life!"

LOL! This reminds me of country/western songs!

My truck got stolen,
My ma passed away,
My dog ate it,
My wife left me,
I lost my paycheck,
My house burned down,
My computer froze up,
I lost your email and address,
I lost my job,
We were in a car wreck

to name a few.

Thanks all, enjoying your "hits" immensely, just thought I would "top" this.

By the way, unrelated, but one of the posts here brought to mind a great song I heard in a folk club about 30 years ago:

(My alternative to the Deadbeats Greatest)

you'd be lying on the floor!
You'd be begging me - please, please, please,
don't NPB me no more!'

Here's one for the children of the bubblegum '70's

"A Deadbeat, it's a Dreadbeat,
and a Dreadbeat, it's a bad vibration
Oh a Deadbeat, ain't a bit sweet,
And when we meet, it's a real frustration!"

...cause we got a dead-beat, we...got..a..dead..beeeeeat, yeaaah, we got a deadbeat.

Apologies to the Go-Go's

Followed by the Joan Jett song that went "I don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation"

Well it's plain to see
You never meant to pay me
Although you placed a bid!
(Yeah eh!)
But don't surrender that check just yet
You'll find a good excuse I'll be..eh..et!

CHORUS:
When you want it the most
Just bid though you're toast(ed)
It will all be just fine you'll see!
(Yeah eh!)
If you play it right, won't get an NPB,
Just bs and threaten me!

When life seems empty
Don't just watch TV,
Go turn that computer on
(Yeah eh!)
Soon you'll find things and bid away
Didn't know what you were doing you'll say!

CHORUS:
When you want it the most
Just bid though you're toast(ed)
It will all be just fine you'll see!
(Yeah eh!)
If you play it right, won't get an NPB,
Just bs and threaten me!

And THAT's the way it is!

My apologies to Celine! (and to anyone who knows the song .. just read my sig line and you'll understand!)

Funny funny thread! LOL
