Geez, what's going on? I have almost 30 auctions going (mainly sweaters). About half of them have been going for almost five days - yet I don't even have *one* bid!!!

Usually by this time I'll have a few bids - maybe not many - but never have I had *none*!!

Let's hope things pick up over the next couple of days.

Don't worry. I sell sweaters, too, and I've noticed lately it's common to get only 1 or 2 bids on the last day. This is sweater season, after all!

Hi, I just checked your auctions and the 2 items I clicked on (the last 2 items - 3X sweaters) the pics aren't showing up on either one. Maybe that has something to do with it? But then again I've noticed slow bids also...

Valerie47 - You're right, the last two auctions don't have pictures. I said in the auction itself that I would be adding them this weekend. All the others have pictures. These don't because they had already sold once but the bidder never paid (and is now NARU'd). Unfortunately, I had already erased the pictures. Yeah, yeah, I know - I usually don't erase them until I have the money - but I did this time. Serves me right.

well, i wish i could offer you some hope, but to be honest with you my auctions have been stinking for the last month and rarely do i see anyone else posting here that they too have terrible auctions....not sure why no one are/is complaining, but this is my worst fall ever....not sure how many more 'bad' months i can take; i wish you good luck

I don't know if it is some sort of Indian Summer slump, or pre-Christmas doldrums, but yes, bids and hits are miserable right now for me, too. I am holding off on my Holiday inventory for another month.

I've also been getting a significant amount of traffic this week but a very low number of bids. Much lower than anything in the last two months.

We had a terrible September but since then things have been looking up. We've been getting quite a few items bid up and have had two or three best ever days in the last couple of weeks.

Yesterday was great and today is fair (so far) but we are not getting a lot of early bids right now. I think all of the recent changes Ebay has made could have something to do with it.

I noticed a few things that might help you out.

>No brand names in titles.
>Pictures are too big and load slowly.

We have had a lot of success with sweaters but only recogized designer brands (Escada, Ungaro, ect..).

A bid!! A bid!!

Finally - I was beginning to worry.

outoftheblue - I'm seriously out of touch with designer stuff - I've never even heard of the two you mentioned. Shows how much I know.....

I had nothing on eBay for the last few days, but Yahoo has been perking.

I agree - my eBay bid count is pitiful. I'm actually close to selling as many items on yahoo as on ebay, a first for me and something I wouldn't have believed possible when I started diversifying.

-- all my post-sale eBay email correspondence mentions yahoo and supplies the URL of my yahoo booth and the yahoo category of the item purchased. I'm hoping more buyers can be persuaded to look both places. Yahoo offers much more exposure for an item. Free listing + 2 auto relists = 30 day hands-off listing. No fees = no penalty for hard-to-sell items.

Still, for items that DO get bid up, eBay is the place to be.

I sell clothing also. You have some very good looking sweaters! As it was stated before, some of your pictures are loading very slow -take the size down. The one I saw was on its side - can you rotate it with your software? The measurements were below the pictures - can you put them to the side? I thought you didn't have any when I looked at an auction. Your items are great - try a few things to make them greater.

I,too, have had a lot of hits. Most people bid the last couple of hours on an auction--will see what happens tonight when they are due to go off.

I had a four day stretch this week with no bids but on the last day it was pretty good. Most got ne or two bids and one item got 14.

With all the mention of sniping and e-snipe not only here, but on many e-group mail lists, is it possible everyone has decided it's the way to bid?

Just a thought...

My bids are down too. Of course, my first thought was....bidders were so used to using PayPal and enjoying it...now they've heard of its business practices...and are afraid to use it. Bidders sure liked the ease of Paypal, and probably hate the thought of going back to money orders and snail mail so they've just stopped buying! Sounds like a great time to get some bargains!

Hi barbarake,

I mostly learned by doing research on Ebay. Some hot sellers you may have heard of and that you can usually find in thrift stores are (Ralph Lauren POLO, Michael Simon and Dana Buchman).
