I e-mailed safeharbor about an item I want to post, but haven't found the right rule to tell me otherwise.
It's a Grateful Dead Box Set. Its a New Year's Video and a Bottle of "Un-Champange" (yes, you heard me, a bottle of Un-Champange).
A Store here was trying to get rid of the item, and I bought it for a very cheap price. It was a Music Store who sold the item.
Unfortuantely, all I can get out of the box's contents without physically opening it is the Grateful Dead Logo, and a small picture of the boxes contents. You can barely see the word "Un-Champange" in pinkish orange letters on the bottle. The rest of the box is all black. It stands about 1 ft, 10 inches tall.
I can't post a picture, because my camera's in the shop due to a few jamming incidents.
It's been over 10 days since I asked Safeharbor if I could post it legally. If not, I either take the chance, or maybe try a specialty site that deal's in wines and other spirits. A search on ebay hasn't produced a match.
Anyone can shed light on this item?

Here's the link to eBay's info on alcohol:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/png-alcohol.html
Here's what it says re: Collectible Containers w/Alchol still present:
"There may be instances where the particular collectible container is unopened and still contains an alcoholic beverage. The sale of collectible containers will be permitted so long as each of the following are met:
The value of the auctioned item is in the collectible container, not its contents. Thus, bottles of wine are not permitted because their value is based on the wine in the bottle, and not the bottle itself.
The auction description should state that the container has not been opened, but that any
incidental contents are not intended for consumption.
The item must not be available at any retail outlet, and the container must have a value that substantially exceeds the current retail price of the alcohol in the container.
Sellers should take steps to ensure that the buyer of these collectibles is of lawful age in the buyer and seller's jurisdiction (generally 21 years old). Buyers and sellers must ensure that the sale complies with all applicable laws and shipping regulations in carrying out the transaction."

Well, not a whole lot of help, but here's some info:
The Official Grateful Dead website is here:
http://www.dead.net/
About your purchase (click on Online Store, then Movies), it says:
New Years Party Set: Video/Glasses/Unchampagne $70.00
There is a link for "More Info/Samples" but they don't have a picture. The Grateful Dead Store Manager is Sue Swanson; the Assistant Store Manager is Ron Knudson. Both can be emailed at [email protected]
I'd write them and ask if it's a non-alcoholic product.

One problem; I bought this at a Music Store, not a Liquor Store.
So, I have to lean on the belief either the item isn't alcoholic (as the word "UN" is on the label, plus the store didn't have a Liquor License, otherwise why would they be selling this) or this could be fermented Grape Juice.
Tomorrow, i'm going down to the local Wine Shop and ask them if they know something about this bottle. I just wanna know if this bleedin' thing is Alcholic or not and if I can post it on eBay!!
edited to say Thanks Glenda. But, at least someone on this board who has some specific knowledge can help me on this board.

This is very simple. Your Un-Champagne is really nothing more than carbonated grape juice. If there is any alcohol at all (the bottle I have here doesn't say so on the label) it will be under 5% making it NON-Alcoholic. Sheesh, go get some cough syrup and go get drunk. Your item is perfectly legal to sell, and was available (and still is so it seems) TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. Look no furthur, you're safe.

Crystalline Sliver, it's probably alcohol free being un-champagne, but be careful of the LSD that might be in there!

So, that's why Safeharbor hasn't replied back. They can dechipher what the hell "Un-Champange" means. That, or their on LSD.
As soon as I get the info from the Grateful Dead Folks and bang up the auction, i'm in business!

Oh wait, silly me...we all know Meg slips a few capsules into the water cooler at eBay everyday as a "pre-caution..."

well, you can sell it as 'collector bottle , not for consumption, must be over 21 years of age, proff of i.d. required..'..
i've done so with Buffetts Tecqulia line, with no problems.
but it is not non-alcoholic, give it a shot!
Something about Dead Goods , from past exprience... if it is promotional, not on/under their label, it may be closed based on that alone. they have a very strict vero program.
good luck.
