I had an auction end on Oct. 1st. The buyer didn't reply to me until Oct. 4th (even though I e-mailed her on the 1st). Then she e-mailed me two more times asking for my name and address again, and the amount she owed AGAIN. Today is the 12th, and still no payment. So I contacted Safe Harbor and they sent her their little "reminder e-mail". Well - that sure got a response! She's ticked as heck because her feedback indicates what a great eBay'er she is and therefore I should have cut her some slack! But - she still hasn't mailed payment! She has to go to the bank and get a money order. I don't know why, because I accept personal checks. At any rate, did I do something wrong?

Just one of those things. Doesn't look like you did anything wrong to me.

Hope the payment comes in soon

I've noticed that attitude before. The buyers get mad at you because they do
something wrong. It is so simple: bid, email, send payment. If they can't do that why are they even looking on ebay?
The reminder letter from ebay is just that, a reminder, it won't hurt you. Just pay the money and it will go away. You didn't do anything wrong. More people should use the reminder letter more often and if you don't get paid leave negative feedback. I've seen several people leave neutral feedback for deadbeats. That doesn't help the other sellers. Sorry for going on and on.
I feel better now.

I had an auction end, sent the EOA letter, all that stuff. About 3 weeks went by, so I emailed again. Never heard from the guy. So
I filed an NPB

He wrote back to me immediately, really really angry. He said the same...his feedback was excellent, etc. But I had no payment from him. Come to find out, he did mail a payment, but it was lost at the post office. But because he never replied to the initial EOA or to my reminder, how was I supposed to know? He did mail another check, I left him good feedback. The guy never left any for me. That really ticked me off.

After all was done, I did receive his first check. The envelope was sliced open, and the check was still there. I mailed the whole thing back to him. And he still wouldn't leave feedback! Sheesh.

As they say, the only ones who want you to cut them some slack, are the slackers!

Sounds LIKE ~ Damned if Ya do or Damned if ya don't! Looks like you followed proper procedure to me, and also it looks like this late pay buyer is stalling for more time.

I got another e-mail from the buyer today whining about how could I be so cruel as to turn her into eBay. Oh, and by the way, still no payment. Now she's saying she had a migraine headache that WHOLE WEEK. First it was the sump pump, now this. Oh - and she wants me to just keep the item AND her payment, which hasn't gotten here yet. She keeps saying I need to look at her feedback; it speaks for itself. Yeah, right. She keeps saying "Why didn't you e-mail ME first?". So I replied and said "If you knew your payment was going to be this late, why didn't YOU e-mail ME??" No reply. What a piece of work. If I had been turned into Safe Harbor, I would be apologizing all over the place and begging forgiveness! It takes all kinds.

Ahhh yes, the ol' "I'm so sick of you just KEEP my money and the item". Personally I like, "I'll send extra for your trouble."

You ain't getting that money.

Update: Got a money order today from the elusive bidder. Postmark on the envelope was the 12th. Good thing it wasn't a personal check or I'd have to hold it. I'm going to mail her package asap and get this transaction over with.

Muriel,

If it's Disney related, I know the bidder personally. She had a heart attack and had been in the hospital so she couldn't send payment, but she was somehow able to keep placing bid after bid after bid. I didn't realize that ICU has a modem hook up for her lap top so she could keep bidding on ebay!

Let them whine but keep to the broken record, "Sorry to hear blah blah payment is still due..."

Don't let yourself get sucked in by the drama.

Kelly

Good news! Payment came, and the buyer and I are now being civil to one another, and even toying with leaving each other positive feedback! I'm amazed.
