Hi Nice People!
Another question:
I am trying to sell a collection of CD-Roms for my sister. She bought a new computer and has a handful of software that is games, recipes, that kind of thing, that are too old to use on her new computer.
When I start the listing and go the the confirming page I get a warning that says I must be copyright holder:

"eBay Policy: CD-R and “beta” copies of software may not be listed on eBay unless you are the copyright owner"

Sooooo...can anyone explain?
Thanks for your time!

If the software came with the purchase of a computer, it will be marked OEM. You can't sell OEM software, as it is only supposed to be sold with the compter it came with.

Of course copies cannot be sold either.

There are probably other scenerios as well.

The CD-Rs are the ones people make with a CD burner, so they are pirated copies.

Beta copies of software are meant for testing and not for sale.

I understand, too, that some CDs that come with your computer when you buy aren't supposed to be sold. One example that comes to mind was the Encyclopedia CD that came with my Compaq as a part of the package. It says I can't sell the disk.

For the most part, though, you shouldn't have any problems. If you do, you will find out soon enough. I'm presently having a copyright problem that got one of my auctions cancelled.

Oh Duh, (sound of me smacking my forhead)
Thanks A LOT!!! LOL!
Of course I get it! Stuff that came with computer or new CD-rewritable? No go.
So the things she picked up at the local computer store are good.
Ebay should be paying you!
