I have noticed several people say that auctions ending on Sunday and Monday nights seem to do better. However, I am wondering with football back if you think that will still hold true? Or do you think that perhaps another time might be better. Thanks for any input!

I like Sunday nights myself. But there are always reasons, or excuses, not to list a certain night. For awhile it was because Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was on. Then it was the night for Survivor. Now its probably the Olympics and soon it will be the new TV season so Thursday nights are probably bad. I watch football Monday nights but my computer is in my dining room with a nice view into the living room and the TV set. So basically I watch television and am online at the same time.

I stay away from Monday through Wednesday nights, and my favorite time to end an auction is on Saturday night. It seems like there are a lot of people browsing eBay on Friday and especially on Saturday nights, despite the prevailing opinion that everyone is out partying.

I'll do any night except on Friday and try not to do Saturday night unless I'm having problems launching so I do trial runs on Saturday. Friday night to many people are out partying.

What do you think football widows do for entertainment?

Thank-you all for your responses. I guess it's all just a matter of trial and error and will just hope for the best. Thanks again!

LOL Picker'sAngel-"Football widows"- that's funny!!

I don't "get" football & could care less about it. During last year's super bowl I hit all the stores that are usually too jam-packed with people for me to have any patience trying to shop in. They were empty & I had the run of the stores! It was killer.

During the next one I'm sure I'll be shopping Ebay instead. I'm enlightened now.

I always end Fridays (early evenings actually) and usually have good success. (Maybe the people I sell to don't have lives- I dunno.)

When I bid, Sunday mornings are best. Next best time to bid is Friday evening.

I never have my auctions end on Sundays, but occasionally end on Monday evenings.

I love Mondays through Thursdays!

Fridays ... well ... stink for me.

And weekends I reserve for family time, so I don't schedule auctions to end then.

If I had to pick my best day between Monday through Thursday, I'd have to say Thursday is best, with Monday following closely behind. Tuesday and Wednesday do pretty good.

Maybe Thursday does better because people are anticipating getting their paycheck the next day? I dunno. I've been selling for over 2 years, and I still haven't figured it out!

Saturday I go out looking for items in the mornings and then the rest of the day I do my housework, etc. That leaves Sunday as my relaxing day. Well I do the laundry but I have to do something while I am waiting on it. So I do most of my bidding on Sunday afternoons, since that is the one day I can sleep late. Just my input! From a selling viewpoint, I seem to do well also ending on Sunday night.

Sunday late afternoons do fine for me.. seems to be early enough for the west-coasters, late enough for the int'ls, and when everyone on the east coast seems to be getting home after church/lunch. With the new 'watch' feature though, nothing really seems to kick in anyway as far as bids until the last 15 mins of my auctions!

In my experience, it seems that it really doesn't matter what night your auction ends on. With the new "watch" feature people just click into that once in awhile and as previously stated by others, people have gotten savy to bid at the last few seconds of an auction, even the brand new people are now. Guess the secret is out!
