Last night while dear hubby and I were discussing the PayPal fiasco the subject of all the whining and moaning about ebay came up. I think he made a very good point.
Ebay is in no way perfect but, for all intents and purposes they are creating the wheel. What did we have before ebay, not much? We didn't have a way to find hard to get items in other parts of the country and we didn't have a way for our products to reach a far greater number of people than we could have with a garage sale or a classified ad.
I for one am glad ebay exists and am even happier every time I get to go out and spend some money I otherwise wouldn't have had to spend especially when I get to spend that money on something I couldn't have found for myself locally and inexensively.

No flames here!!!!...After my auctions ended last night (first batch after takin' the summer off) I was thinkin' the same thing!..Yeah, eBay's not perfect & yeah, I complain just as good as the rest...BUT they DO provide me with a vehicle, one that I didn't have 3 years ago, with which I can sell & make some decent extra money!

eBay has become a great equalizer in the marketplace. I cannot count the times I would be in the market for something and my first reaction would be to see if I could find it on eBay (or elsewhere on the web; the cost of buying on eBay has saved me quite a bit.
As a seller, it has allowed me to make money on a frayed shoestring investment budget.
